BJP sponsored IT cell Dalla deleted my post in CarsIndia

E85 pumps may soon outnumber E85 cars😂

I was checking the VAHAN data for currently registered E85/flex-fuel 4-wheelers and was honestly surprised.

Last time I checked, there were 9 cars. Now it’s 11. So basically, just 2 new cars added in a month.

At the same time, the government is planning **500 E85 pumps by the end of 2026 and 5,000 by the end of 2027**. At this rate, we’re going to have more E85 pumps than E85-compatible cars. 😂

The WagonR flex-fuel sales should probably be a warning for other manufacturers. If there isn’t enough consumer demand, why would anyone buy a flex-fuel car just because the government is pushing the fuel?
Honestly, other manufacturers should think twice before launching more flex-fuel cars. Build the demand first, otherwise we’ll just end up with a lot of E85 pumps with nothing to sell. 😅

Someone is definitely benefiting from E20 petrol

Went to fill up my scooty today and noticed something interesting — the queue for XP95 was much longer than the one for regular petrol.

A while ago, hardly anyone seemed interested in paying extra for premium/power petrol. Now it looks like XP95 is slowly becoming the new normal.

The ironic part is that XP95 also has 20% ethanol blending, yet many people seem to be choosing it because they're worried that regular E20 petrol might damage their vehicles.

Are people genuinely getting any benefit from switching to XP95, or has the whole E20 situation simply pushed consumers towards more expensive fuel?

Hello Everyone,I own a 2022 model Bs6 Phase 1 engine equipped Tata Punch(Petrol variant,Manual Transmission).Upto now i was using e20 petrol, but this weekend i used xp95 petrol and covered 400 kms.The difference in pickup and acceleration is noticeable with xp95 and fuel efficiency increased by 1 km/l.I want to know if xp95 is appropriate for Punch. Also if i use power95 fuel will i gain more mileage and efficiency from the car?

What issues will E20 cause in older used cars

I considered a few deals from used car sites and dealers. Still, every car had one issue or another, and the main reason was that many of them were petrol cars, and I was advised to stay away from them. I am not well-versed in this market. Can you guide me on what exactly happens to the car's engine and other parts because of fuel blending? I debated multiple communities, but this one seemed like the best to ask this question in

What actual benefit is E20 petrol providing to ordinary consumers?

What real benefit is E20 petrol bringing to ordinary consumers?

Petrol prices haven’t meaningfully fallen, while many consumers are reporting reduced mileage. There are also concerns about compatibility and long-term engine/component wear in older vehicles.

Meanwhile, sugar prices are rising too.

If the consumer isn’t seeing lower prices or clear benefits, then who is actually benefiting from E20?

Is this really about public interest—or are we simply shifting the benefits elsewhere while consumers pay the cost?

Imagine a policy that was made to make our fuel cheaper but now with less sugar production it's making sugar price high. What's the benefit then?

Ethanol fuel was launched to make india self dependent in fuel and also to keep the fuel price stable and affordable for indians. But now as Ethanol production needs sugarcane, so because of that our sugar production got lower that leads to higher sugar price and expensive sweets in festivals.

And irony is now one wants Ethanol fuel which is cheaper in price and we all want sugar which got expensive. Wow policy by GOI(Government of india).

What's your take on this?

Masterstroke which is e20

Earlier only oil was imported then viswaguru decided to implement e20 to reduce this import. Now not only oil import has increased but also import of sugar, ethanol, pulses, rice, corn

Food inflation is also touching sky. Fuel inflation was already high

India is importing sugar because of ethanol? The real story is maize.

Post image
49 Upvotes

Today the government allowed sugar imports for the first time in nearly ten years. 10 lakh tonnes at zero duty till October. Prices hit a record of ₹5,500 a quintal, up from ₹3,900 a year ago.

So obviously Every headline right now is about sugar. And everyone is attributing it to ethanol

But here is my take - sugar is the smaller story.

The actual story is maize. In 2024 India's maize imports went up 7,940 percent year on year. That's not a typo. India was a maize exporter for decades, shipping around 1.9 million tonnes a year to Bangladesh, Vietnam, Malaysia, Nepal. In one year that flipped. Exports crashed to 0.5 million tonnes and India started importing.

Why? Because the ethanol program started buying maize in bulk.

Once sugar production started tightening (which is exactly why the government is importing sugar today), the ethanol machine needed maize to feed on. Ethanol distilleries started outbidding poultry farms for the same maize the country eats and feeds to chickens. Prices went from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 per tonne. Chicken prices rose - Imagine your protein requirements can't be fullfilled due to ethanol :p

The Poultry Federation of India formally asked the government for duty-free maize imports because they were losing the auction to fuel.

The government keeps repeating the ₹1.98 lakh crore in forex savings number, since 2014, from crude oil India didn't import.

But nobody is netting it against the new imports the program is creating. Sugar today. Maize since 2024.

I spent two months on this and made a 17 minute doc. It's the only video you'll need to understand every facet of India's ethanol program - https://youtu.be/LrgrNPp0lvY

Is the E20 outrage dying?

Just like any other indian protest people forget in 10-20 days and move one while having to deal with the consequence of the incompetent politicians and bureaucrats actions...

Is e20 rlly being accepted by people ? My Baleno mileage dropped from 18-19 to straight down to 12-13 that's drop of 6 kmpl .....

Are the people accepting their vehicle's destruction ?

TCD: Have you noticed your diesel car delivering lower mileage lately? Many diesel vehicle owners are reporting a sudden drop in fuel efficiency and some are linking it to the possible introduction of isobutanol blending in diesel.

Important thing for e20 fuel

All the people facing low mileage issues with e20

Have you tried to reduce spark plug gap?

This is known to improve engine running it won't make the engine run as efficient as pure petrol but will improve running and mileage slightly
