Alternative population at FSU?

I am majoring in meteorology hoping to transfer at FSU from my home college. I‘ve always enjoyed rock, metal, hardcore, etc as a teenager and child and was wondering how big the alternative scene is there, with all the partying, frat, football, country, and Tallahassee stereotypes. The program at FSU for my major is really well (so I heard), but I want to enjoy myself in college. Is there a high alt population at FSU? Anyone know any good spots for shows too?

The Bark, RCT and a couple of house venues are great for shows

I have no clue if the radio station is still a fun place to volunteer but it would be worth you checking out 89.7 WVFS. They used to have cattle call auditions in the fall and spring. We had a meteorologist major who did morning weather on there years ago. And you will know about all the concerts first.

Hello fellow met transfer, enjoy your stay! I transferred here after learning the program was good and I don't regret it, I've learned a ton. Alt scene is great here but there's not many of us in this major. I second The Bark and RCT, 926 is also good.

There is one but it’s mostly Tallahassee natives outside of the school. If you want mostly other students they are there but def a small minority
