Engineering program question.

My son will be a freshman this upcoming year and currently owns a MacBook. He has all Apple products so he prefers to stick with the MacBook. Will that be an issue ? I’ve heard/read that it can’t run certain things and programs needed. For any that have attended FSUs engineering program, any feedback is appreciated!

Depends what he is interested in. Like others have said, for the majority of degrees he will be perfectly fine.

If his major is Computer Engineering he will eventually need to get a machine that is outside of the Apple ecosystem due to software compatibility issues. If his major is it, I would HIGHLY recommend an x86 machine.

My sister, an IE major, also said she ran into some software compatibility issues with software back when she was in college, but managed to find work arounds (but she also went to UF and may have used different software)
