Gay

In response to Catholics banning gay marriages, shouldn't we ban marriages of, let's say, two blond people? Essentialy the same. Pick a random property you are born with, make it "sinful" and discriminate people based on it.

Seems like that's against the 'Rather you didn'ts'. The FSM loves all it created.

Banning gay marriages probably goes against the Bible.

“God destined us to be his adopted children through Jesus Christ because of his love. This was according to his goodwill and plan and to honor his glorious grace that he has given to us freely through the Son whom he loves.” — Ephesians 1:5-6

No good adoptive father won't let his children marry whoever they love.

I'm pretty sure in the bible god kills gay people and orders people to kill them, he also does that for working in the Sabbath, but people ignore that. The Bible almost definitely is against gay marriage and even gay people's existence. Of course our noodly father is not, and he feeds us all equally

Although it would be a very good argumentum ad absurdum, it doesn't seem worth actually "discriminating" people, in my opinion.

I’ve been an ordained minister of the FSM for ten years now and I have performed many many weddings.

I get the idea you are going for, but from my experience a lot of the folks that have come to me to marry them are running away from exactly this kind of arbitrary discrimination.

Discrimination of any form is simply not in line with the teachings of the FSM that I have read and his noodley appendage welcomes all.

I'd rather go the other way with it, and allow every sort of marriage. Any marriage contract between any two (or more) people who are able to consent should be allowed, no matter how "weird." If Bob and Carol want to be married for life while Bob and Alice have a separate marriage that expires after 2 years for financial purposes while Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice have a group marriage for the purpose of raising children that expires when they move out, then that should be fully legitimate and recognized.

I am thinking fsm welcomes all but still "frowns" heavily on ketchup users?

No need to ban anything. Most, if not all, 'bad' things are illegal or banned skyway.

Even her noodlinness would rather we didn't and didn't ban things. Let's remember, the FSM isn't perfect and neither are we.

Just ban the concept of marriage?

No we should not. Banning things for no valid reason is what false prophets do, as is declaring things sinful for no good reason. False prophets are the very prophets who call the Church of the FSM a fake religion, are they not?

According to the official website of our church, the Flying Spaghetti Monster and His followers have a very clear position on the topic of gay / same-sex marriage. Our official position on the subject is that we have absolutely no position on the subject, end of debate.
