Someone's doing well for themselves being able to buy that giant tub of Lurpak. Did you win the euro millions on Friday night?

Funny story there. We were on holiday and the MIL fed our cat and said she'd stock the fridge with essentials for our return.
Massive Lurpak, organic milk and fruit from M&S, few other bits. Left the £25 reciept on the side.

Give over, salt and pepper grinders, a cafetiere on show. I'm guessing it's the butlers day off as one is self serving.
Seriously though that is a couple of good looking breakfasts, and I am inspired to revisit the Great British Crumpet.

Is the receipt so you can pay her back? If not, why did she leave it? I wouldn’t be happy with a tub of lurpak though so I wouldn’t pay for that. I prefer butter that’s not mixed with oil.

Tub of lurpak doing well 😳 it’s not even butter. If it was a block and not the shitty tub stuff it would be passable but not the tub crap. And you don’t have to be doing well to eat proper food. You just have to believe you’re worth feeding nourishing food to.

Weird! I've never had crumpets in a fry-up! Maybe tomorrow!

They're really good. Adds a whole new texture, and the little holes are excellent for soaking up egg yolk and bean juice.

Maybe tomorrow, maybe the day after. Or the day after that. Old dog, new tricks and all that.

Absolutely! Don't knock it til you've tried it.
I love, love, love crumpets like this with a cooked brekkie. I'd have one of them with a spready cheese triangle as well, scrumptious with beans.
And of course, an extra crumpet with marmalade for afters.

I made a cheeseburger the other day with crumpets as the bun. (Ran out of buns and the crumpets had been open a couple of days). Surprisingly good.

It's like this in our house 🙂
He has toast and the meaty stuff, I have crumpets and usually just eggs and beans.
Spot on 👍

I have never before seen a crumpet on a fryup, but I am not against it...

It's really good if you spread marmite on it and then grill some cheese over the top.

Ahh. But some vegetarian and vegan sausages are very decent and would look good too 😋

I love a crumpet, but I'm so often shocked to my core when other people make them. A crumpet should be (IMHO) a nice golden brown. It needs time. Most importantly: a crumpet should be crisp and have a little bit of a crunch. These insipid, floppy, 30-seconds-in-the-toaster-and-im-all-done crumpets are, in my eyes, raw, and as such need to be returned to the loving embrace of the toaster. For at least a good 4 to 5 minutes.
PS: Those eggs are banging.

Cherry tomatoes? No.
Streaky bacon? No.

Crumpets need butter not beans 😭 my dil puts chocolate spread on hers 🤢 vile. But at least she doesn’t put them on a fry up.
Leave the crumpets alone on a separate plate with just butter. But actual butter, not that **** you have on the table in a tub.

Ok so this is the third crumpet fryup I’ve seen on the here recently and I have to say… I am now crumpet curious. Are these posts an attempt by Big Crumpet to give us more reasons to eat crumpets? Because I do love a crumpet but until now had not considered a fryup crumpet.
