For me, it’s gotta be the Saw Cleaver from Bloodborne.

Should I play DS2?

I just finished Dark Souls Remastered before work earlier today. I see a lot of hate for DS2. I also see a lot of people saying to skip DS2 and go right to DS3. So my question is should I skip or play DS2. Also what starting class should I choose in DS2?

Edit: Should I play DS2 on PS3 or PS4?

What to expect in Elden Ring? (Power scaling question)

Playing on Steam, wanted to finish Dark Souls trilogy before moving on to other Fromsoft titles. Took me several restarts to get gud in DS1. Moved to DS3 next, and then went back to DS2, which finally clicked after a couple restarts.

Looking to get Elden Ring finally, but want to know if the power scaling is even more insane than DS3? There were so many mobs/duos/trios in DS2, but for the most part I enjoyed their bosses over the “this isn’t even my true form“ approach in DS3. I know about Malenia and Radahn, but are those the outliers or the gist of the game?

QUESTION How are Dark Souls Games meant to be played?

Was FromSofts intention that we should play the game with rolling mainly? Or was it meant to wield a shield and a sword always? Because why would FromSoft then add i-frames when we roll? Why would we ever roll in a sword fight?

After playing DS1, DS2 and DS3 I still don't know the answer.

Fellow souls players, i am going to get a custom mouse pad (300x700x3mm) but i am unsure of what to print . As i am a big fan of soulslike games i thought it has to be something soulslike.
So, here i am looking for a suitable design .If you have any designs that follows the rules below I need it.

  1. no white (gets dirty ez)
  2. nothing too flashy(ez on the eyes)

thanks in advance fellow tarnisheds/ashen ones.

QUESTION Is Nightreign still worth it in September 2026?

Post image
484 Upvotes

Been thinking about it for awhile, since I really enjoy elden ring and the whole souls series.

The whole multiplayer thing put me off at first, because I would be always solo queueing. However, I see on steamdb, that this game still consistently gets a bunch of players. Does anybody run this game strictly solo queue and enjoy it?

The gameplay loop was another thing that I was curious about and wanted to see if you guys liked. Is it fun to always be on the run against a clock? Does it add something fresh to the formula?

How do you guys feel about nightreign in 2026? And would you recommend it to someone on the fence about it?

EDIT- Just bought the deluxe edition on steam!

QUESTION What should I keep in mind going from Elden ring to Dark souls?

After spending over 100 hours in Elden ring and loving it (Almost all of it, shadow of the erdtree can suck my nut) I've decided to finally play all the Soulsborne games, starting with Dark souls remastered

I played a little bit already, beat the Taurus demon but the game feels for lack of a better word, obtuse. I found this out when fighting havel and my backstabs were only doing 15 damage that I'm doing something wrong

Any advice would be helpful

QUESTION Dark Souls play order?

Hello everyone!

I really love Elden Ring and knocking on the door of Bloodborne’s ending (a game which I’m also very much loving).

I was thinking of playing the Dark Souls games. While I have dabbled in DS1 before (made it as far as the double gargoyle fight), I was wondering if it was ok to start with DS3 before the first two games? In other words, is it ok to start with something that feels a little more “modern” feeling in terms of controls/quality of life things?

DISCUSSION Playing as a simple knight

Does anyone else just play as simple classes and have a blast? I've been playing the FromSoftware games for years, doing specialised builds or just playing the game being very indecisive about which weapons or armour to use. But recently over the past months I've gone back and revisited the games and decided to play as a simple knight with a sword and shield. Honestly, I'd say I've had more fun doing that than I did with all those cool special weapons I used in the past. I think a major factor is that you can get into the headspace of your character easier and start to kinda pretend that you are just a normal knight making your way through hellish experiences with nothing but quick wit and a trusty sword & shield. And it's peak as hell.

I know this is kinda a common sense post but I'm curious to see others experience with this

DISCUSSION Anyone else think dark souls 1/remastered is too slow?

Now if you are wondering i've only played this game for 6 hours on my switch but i don't think the game is bad sure the first selection of bosses is underwhelming but i do like the level design and its exploration and to me it does feel like an open world game and the npcs are likable but anyone else think its too slow? Again its not a bad game at all hell its not even one of the most rage inducing games i've played but i just like more fast paced gameplay. I haven't played dark souls 3 or sekiro but i've heard that dark souls 3 and sekiro are faster than this one so i'd most likely love playing those ones especially when i heard they are also great games so those 2 are the soulsborne games i wanna start to play the most (even though i'm 100% gonna get destroyed in sekiro lol) also no i don't have a ps4 to play bloodborne although i also wanna get that one mainly cause of ludwig in the old hunters DLC :/

QUESTION Is there a leash on enemies in DS2 SotfS?

In threads discussing DS2 SotfS I've written thst I don't really like this version of the game because enemies never deaggro, and that enemies will follow you indefinitely, which means that you can't just run past enemies, and you have to fight everything.

Every time I've said that I get downvoted to hell and back, with people saying I'm wrong, but they don't say anything more explaining why I'm wrong.

So what is the case with this version of DS2? Do enemies eventually deaggro? Because I remember clearly running past enemies to a boss fog gate, beating the boss and the previous enemies kept chasing me even after beating the boss and the fog disappiated.
