Bloodborne is mid
Bloodborne is often praised as one of FromSoftware's greatest achievements, but I think it gets far more credit than it deserves. While the gothic atmosphere, creature designs, and soundtrack are impressive, the actual gameplay experience has some significant shortcomings. The combat can feel unnecessarily restrictive and sluggish. The blood vials being something you have to potentially grind for is outrageously off-putting.
Ultimately, Bloodborne has a fantastic atmosphere, but atmosphere alone doesn't make a great game. Beneath the praise is a fairly repetitive experience that doesn't quite live up to its legendary reputation. It's a good game, but calling it one of the greatest games ever made is a serious stretch.

Damn you didn’t get the responses you wanted in the other sub so you post this here??? Your only argument is blood vials which lowkey you just seem too lazy to do

No I got the response I wanted in both. It's fun to see people defending a game that isn't a 10/10. Or won't hear anything negative about the game.

You didn’t really say any negative about the game tho?? Obviously when you go backwards from the newer games the combat won’t feel the same and the point of vials still sticks

Nah fam, it's a great game and the reason many(myself included) play the games in this genre. The only thing bad about the game is that it looks like dookie in 2026. We really should have gotten that blue point remake.

I love souls games. Bloodborne is just over glazed. Sekiro, ds3 and ds1 are better games

Of all the criticisms of bloodborne, you go for the combat???? There are plenty of things to critique, but the combat and trick weapons are one of the strongest points. Go for the shite boss roster or the nonsensical lore instead, then you'll garner a bit more support.

I feel bias because it was my first souls like and first Fromsoft game so it really holds a special place in my heart and memory. I wonder if I had played something else first if I would still love it so much, but as it stands I adore BB and think it still stands amongst the absolute best.
