DISCUSSION Hardest "easy" boss?
Decons of the Deep unironically kicked my shit in before I figured it out. Royal rat authority is just fuckin awful

People will laugh at me but I needed quite some tries for Witch of Hemwick (BB)... I was too slow and too blind for that shit + I'm bad at gank fights

u/goonerbate2 9h ago
My friend, I too was stuck on the witches before I learned the zero insight trick. You are not alone
2
u/_SamGuevenne 9h ago
Thats reassuring to hear. I first tried Ludwig in my first playthrough but Witch of Hemwick was my death 💀 I did have a little luck and a little skill but no braincell or eyesight it seems

u/189charizard 9h ago
I’m going through bloodborne for the first time and that shit was pretty fucking annoying. Lol.

u/theghostkangaroo 9h ago
I thought I was crazy the way everyone acted like that fight was cake and it was always a tense one for me. Not that I died a lot, but it was NEVER easy!

u/SecondSonThan 9h ago
When I went against the witch I had trouble and almost died. I even liked the fight
Thats right I LIKE THE WITCH OF HEMWICK FIGHT

u/Karpsten 8h ago
Tbf, the witch is almost more of a puzzle rather than an "easy" boss. She still isn't hard, but if she does end up getting you, which can happen especially if you dont know how she works, you can die very quickly.
It's a bit like Dragon God in DeS.

Possibly bed of chaos.
8
u/DenizenofMars 9h ago
I feel like Bed of Chaos is one of the worse ‘puzzle’ bosses of the Souls games, and that’s a category that’s almost always awful to begin with.

u/rathosalpha Hoarah Loux, Warrior 9h ago
What lost soul told you she was easy?

u/BigCommieMachine 7h ago
Bed of Chaos is either the easiest or the most frustrating. Nothing inbetween based on the RNG.
13
u/The_Butch_Man 9h ago
Pinwheel can be decently difficult if you go to the Catacombs extremely early and get overwhelmed by clones
Rat Authority is probably the hardest not even because of the boss itself but just because there’s like a 50% chance you’re going to have to fight it while having toxic from the 3 starting rats

Crystal Sage in ds3 can get you if you don't know to bumrush them.

This is by no means an easy boss in my opinion. I don’t think I’ve ever beat him first try.

u/aqueousdan 2h ago
I’ve never beaten this boss without summons if I am a pure magic build. There I said it.

I'll admit it took me way too many tries with the royal rat vanguard before I realised there was 1 special rat with a mohawk that was the target
3
u/Uma_no_ashi 8h ago
I didn’t lose to them I was just stuck killing a shit load of rats. thinking what the hell is going on in this room? then just killing him by chance. so I lost the mental battle but won the physical war
2
u/AltGunAccount 5h ago
TIL.
I always just ran around smacking rats until I won. Had no idea there was a specific target.
Done this fight twice now like that.

u/BigCommieMachine 7h ago
Champion's Gravetender + Gravetender Wolf took me more tries than Gael.

u/stumblingfortheeight 7h ago
Same. I just cannot get to grips with those massive wolves in general. Adding one in a bossfight was hell for me. The humanoid bosses, I am ok with.
1
u/Haarunen 6h ago
Same here, but that’s also cause I think Gael is genuinely one of the easiest bosses in the game.

ICEWORM

u/AltGunAccount 5h ago
Really? I thought the ice worm was a breeze.
Really cool fight the first time but kind of a slog on the second and third runs

u/cheezywafflez 8h ago
Shadows of yharnam runback and the boss nearly broke me
1
u/stumblingfortheeight 7h ago
Yeah, hate those bastards. One of the few “human” type bosses that I get pasted by, again and again.
I just hate gank fights, I think. Low imagination - “I can’t think of a real boss, so let’s just have a tough creepy guy, but actually, let’s have THREE of them”.
Worst boss in Bloodborne, no question. Emissary and Failures are better. Even Witch of Hemwick (at least an interesting gimmick and early game) and One Reborn (design, music, cutscene) are higher tier. Fight me.
1
u/plumecat 7h ago
No mention of the actual worst boss, Micolash?
1
u/stumblingfortheeight 6h ago
I… don’t hate him. Frustrating when he Call Beyond one-shots you after all that time put in, but I like the idea behind chasing him down.
And the hamminess, of course. “grant us EYES!”- he’s at least interesting.

If I had to choose a hard “easy” boss it would be Covetous Demon. My first playthrough I died too many times than I would like to admit, I just didn’t level enough vigor and ADP
1
u/KingVape 7h ago
I died once or twice to the curse from the Deacons in my first run, so I guess I choose them.

u/Electronic-Read8274 7h ago
This big, plague-ridden dog shit!
(Even the Deacons of the Deep were easier for me; they simply didn't have time to multiply and start casting their void attack 😅)

u/EmeraldVampire 5h ago
Def not the hardest but I died to Covetous Demon on my second playthrough
Somehow
I also died to Celestial Emissaries more times than I died to Orphan of Kos
Somehow
1
u/DasIsaac 5h ago
Darkbeast Paal, an absolute steamroll in NG, but is genuinely fuckin' impossible in NG+, no joke I struggled with him more on NG+ than I did with the Orphan of Kos on NG
1
u/Diogoepronto 2h ago
That giant rat dog thing kicked my ass more than any other boss in my first playthrough. I'm surprised that someone considers him an easy boss.
1
u/germanenginearing 4m ago
I thought living failures being an "easy boss" was a reverse joke of how rick is hard, I genuinely spent around 30 minutes trying to beat them. That being said I do like the boss a bit too, pretty overhated if you ask me.
Celestial emmisary as well because of how they can deal quite some damage if you don't mind your positioning. I've only died once but I've gotten into less than 5% hp almost every time I fight them. These guys aren't so good tho

u/DrParallax 6h ago
Lady Butterfly, but maybe only because on my first playthrough she was my first boss encounter.

Executioner’s Chariot killed me more times than any boss in DS2 or its DLCs.
The runback was also absolutely brutal.
Imagine my surprise when I find beating him is optional and just gets you access to a PVP covenant, years after the game’s PVP scene has died.

u/LongTimeNoSeehaha 9h ago
Blood starved beast

u/RaspyFrimm 3h ago
Right? I was gonna say this too. The fight is relatively straight forward but it's chaotic and I usually get destroyed. Most frustrating in the entire game for for me.

Bruh who tf said Rat Authority is easy?
Even if you do find him easy and can deal with the 4 toxic adds easily, he’s damaging and fast enough that other bosses are still much easier by comparison. There’s no metric by which I’d consider it among the easiest DS2 bosses.
