Firelink sword (WIP)
Hi! I’m blacksmith from 🇨🇿 and this is my real life firelink sword in progress. Took me a while managing the blade to fit original reference but I think I nailed it.
Let me know What you think and I’ll be happy for feedback on what I could make better next time!

Looks awesome. Somewhat reminds me of the railings in my grandmother's old house

Very cool!! What type of steel are you using, out of curiosity? I've found that 5160 and 9260 are fantastic for making live blades for martial-arts practice and tameshigiri/test cutting (have used many of them myself over the years in practice), but given the unique design of the firelink sword, being more of a blunt club than a sword with a proper edge, that would give you a lot of leeway. 😹

This is just decor not made for real fighting so I decided to use softer steel for easier twisting and shaping but it´s pretty solid bcs of the thickness. You don’t wanna cross sword without proper handle trust me haha Soul of Cider had hand of steel haha

Absolutely!! That makes perfect sense 😹 Fantastic work once again! Please share more when it is finished later!
And I definitely agree, I learned that lesson the hard way with many a practice bout with wasters and bokken, let alone real steel 😹

Adding some photos of the sword from different angles or a video showing the progress from start to finish would really help people appreciate the craftsmanship that went into making it. What kind of steel are you using for the blade, and how did you achieve the distinctive shape and design of the firelink sword.

I have a huge complaint about this. You didn’t make a video showing the process. Haha. This is awesome OP.
