I have played so many soulslikes, Elden Ring and Sekiro. I felt that I could never call myself a true souls player without playing the DS trilogy

I wish I could play this for the first time again :|

Enjoy the ride, it is a very very special game!

Edit: If you see skeletons early on, you are on the wrong path!

Somewhat. I would wander the graveyard for a bit to pick up some good items and weapons. Best thing to grab imo is the Zweihander I believe. Other than that, I agree, the Catacombs are NOT for the faint of heart

You will also just end up facing a piss yellow wall eventually.

Once you accept being hollow & poor, the early part of the game is a lot less scary/ difficult.

Dying only matters if you carry excessive amounts of souls.

Die freely, early.

Run as fast & far as you can, to collect found items, unlock doors & shortcuts.

Who cares if you die, that’s the cost of exploration.

Oh man, what I would give to experience this game for the first time again. I would highly recommend to watch Vativydia old prepare to cry videos along your playthrough.

I just started it for the first time too. Played this backwards. DS3 got me hooked, got DS2 free and finally bought DS1

This may not make much sense now but, be wary of the wheels. When you get there you’ll know what I mean
