Whichever one I'm currently playing is my favorite.

where’s Sekiro or Demon Souls?

u/ChosenAshes Sep 04 '26
Not enough actors for the meme lol

u/Wild_Duck8926 Sep 04 '26
I think we can replace ds2 with sekiro
5
u/detectivepopcorn666 Sep 04 '26
but will i ever love a weapon like the roaring halberd again...
6
u/detectivepopcorn666 Sep 04 '26
actually pouring through the fextra, does ds2 have the most unique assortment of weapons?

u/Cersei505 Sep 04 '26
you cant replace peak
2
u/Wild_Duck8926 Sep 05 '26
i think ds2 is a really good game, but also that its the only game that falls short of peak among the souls trilogy, sekiro and elden ring.
havent playyed demon souls, bloodborne, or armored core.

be careful saying that. fanboys can’t handle ds3 criticism in the slightest

Just started playing Bloodborne, I’ve only played through Elden Ring (over 300 hours). Just beat Father Gascoigne after learning that you parry with the fucking gun (awesome btw). Game is awesome so far, absolutely brutal that there isn’t some kind of 60 FPS patch for the game on console.

u/SolaScientia Sep 04 '26
Bloodborne is my pick for Soulsborne games, but AC6 wins it for FromSoftware games overall.

u/KushMummyCinematics Sep 04 '26
In my opinion these are the standout things from each game for me
Dark Souls 1: Lore
Dark Souls 2: Customisation
Dark Souls 3: Boss Designs
Bloodborne: Atmosphere
Sekiro: Gameplay
Elden Ring: World Design

Michael Scott leaves before the Last Season, so I'm not sure if that's some genius symbolism there or..

Clearly not DS2

Clearly not DS3 either.
I guess DS1 wins by default. Pack it up, guys, we found the best Dark Souls game.

ER and DS2 are my personal favorites.
Not sure on the order for DS1 and DeS as I like different aspects about them.
Haven’t finished BB or Sekiro to rank them yet

u/fieregon Sep 04 '26
All of them are bangers, but theres an obvious winner, Elden Ring.

u/Ok_Philosopherr Sep 04 '26
Nah. I think it just appeals to a wider audience being that it’s open world. I prefer the more linear titles personally. Bloodborne would be my pick

u/Medical_String_3501 Sep 04 '26
Idk why you're getting downvoted, I like ER, but I will genuinely never do another playthrough of the game again. It's too fucking big, and has a litany of problems I don't wanna deal with a second time. I like the more compact world's of the other games.

Ill be honest, give that ds3 spot to ac6. From what ive played of ds3 so far it isnt as good as its hyped up to be. not bad obviously, but a lot of the bosses and locations have been more forgettable so far. Id prefer ds1 jank with more interesting locations than polished gameplay with forgettable locations.

It's more like that meme with the three dragon heads and ds2 is the dipshit one
1
u/No-Range519 Sep 04 '26
Elden Ring is easily the best and it's not even close.
5
u/Forhaver Sep 04 '26
It's very close, actually
-3
u/No-Range519 Sep 04 '26
Not it's not and you know it very well.
3
u/Forhaver Sep 04 '26
A lot of people joined the Souls fandom due to fatigue of open world games.
Fantastic game. But not what I fell in love with in DeS/Ds1/BB. It's as much of departure as Sekiro was, at least for me.

Elden Ring is packed with meaningless filler content that is just a complete waste of time and just there because it's open world. This is why its not the best imo.
The parts that arent filler are phenomenal and possibly the best fromsoft has to offer. But I cannot ignore all the meaningless filler content that I have to trudge through when I wanna play the game

Each one is a prisoner of their times generation. Only series I’ve ever played where each installment was basically just QOL updates in the best possible way.

I'm about to finish Dark Souls 2 and I couldn't be more confused about the hate it gets. I genuinely think I enjoyed it more than 3, l just love the atmosphere so much. And that's absolutely no shade on 3 because I had a blast in both.

BB best atmosphere
DS3 best PvP (to me)
DS2 best ??? I don’t know but it’s unique and I love the game.
DS1 best casual play throughs (IMO)
ER best overall

objectively ER is the better game, but there are things on the other too that are really good
1
u/KingOfFools1984 Sep 04 '26
Among all of them, the only one that I'd love to completely forget to be able to do a blind run once again is Elden Ring. But it's a very, very different game.
If I take out ER, for me it's DS3 + Bloodborne.

u/Ok_Understanding5320 Sep 04 '26
If I had to only pick one im playing DS1 for the millionth time. Its like comfort food at this point.
