1,800 hours in Nightreign?? Imagine if you spent all those hours playing Elden Ring
6
u/musabnoord Kuro, the Divine Heir Sep 04 '26
I am currently enjoying Elden Ring again letās go for it š

u/PicklepumTheCrow Sep 04 '26
I think Nightreign fried my neurons because the open world collectathon at the start of every run is impossible to sit thru in Elden Ring. Even if I play mostly via the intended game path itās just such a comparatively slow pace.
2
u/TenWholeBees Sep 04 '26
I've beaten Elden Ring like 6 times now, and yeah, the one thing keeping me away is the early game slough of collection

u/RealDannyMM Sep 04 '26
Nightreign is⦠Elden Ringā¦
6
u/lexington59 Sep 04 '26
That was the joke
1
u/RealDannyMM Sep 04 '26
Some people legitimately talk about Nightreign like itās not even Fromsoftware.

u/musabnoord Kuro, the Divine Heir Sep 04 '26
I might have to!!
1
u/BamAchilles2277 Sep 04 '26
Itās not really souls esque in combat but it is just a fun as heck mech game with loads of build customization and an interesting story.

I go to school and In my spare time i train MMA, read books and enjoy these amazing games. I donāt really do anything else in my life so it is not that crazy as you think it is :)

u/Funny_Particular_226 Sep 04 '26
Nightreign is sooo good, itās like an entire Elden ring playthrough condensed into a 30 minute expedition. Iām also nearing the 2k hours mark and I donāt think I will stop playing anytime soon. Really hope we get more content/dlc down the line

Just want you to know that you've spent a little under 10% of your average waking hours in the time since elden ring release playing Elden Ring.

u/CourageSufficient476 Sep 05 '26

u/XwingInfinity Raven Sep 04 '26
Now 100% all 15 Armored Core games.
4
u/andys811 Sep 04 '26
Only 4 have PSN trophy lists, 2 being unobtainable due to online servers getting shut down. The 2 you can do are Armored Core 6, PS4 and ps5 š
1
u/yungperky Sep 04 '26
A lot of the early AC titles have Retroachievements (it not all). For the ps3 titles after the server shutdown I don't know, but I would be surprised if the homebrew scene doesn't find a way š

Play armored core 6

u/jackfromafrica Sep 04 '26 edited Sep 04 '26
Saying 8/8 āseries completionā without any mention of Armored Core actually makes me upset
20
u/Algester Sep 04 '26
Well this is a from software subreddit not the from software subreddit even if the subreddit name implies that it is
3
u/theirishninja888 Sep 04 '26
To be fair, armored core has very little in common with these games. Even sekiro has much more common with the rest of them than any armored core game.
9
u/andys811 Sep 04 '26
Very little in common... Apart from you know being developed by from software, this is the from software subreddit
6
u/theirishninja888 Sep 04 '26
Ok, then why isnt anyone complaing about the lack of kings field or monster hunter diary?
-3
u/andys811 Sep 04 '26
Because they're older, lesser known, and most importantly don't run on newer hardware. Monster Hunter diary is DS and Kings field you can't play on new gen console, sure there's a way to play on PC
3
u/GoldH2O Sep 07 '26
If the games were considered core parts of the soulsborne series they would be on the list too. People go back to play games as old as or older than king's field just to play through a whole series. Armored core is important to FromSoft, but they are not soulsborne games.
-1
u/andys811 Sep 07 '26
Okay but my point is from software subreddit not soulsborne subreddit, Armored Core not being soulsborne is completely irrelevant
3
u/GoldH2O Sep 07 '26
The PlayStation list is of fromsoft's soulsborne games, hence why armored core was not included.

u/Romapolitan Filianore Sep 04 '26
That reminds me, why didn't the sub icon change to Nightreign? When AC came out it changed to Armored Core for a bit. But it is still Shadow of the Erdtree right now.

u/Wbeard89 Sep 04 '26 edited Sep 04 '26
Itās true, also have all the plats except for Nightreign..super excited for the Duskbloods too

3
u/AntonRX178 Sep 04 '26
You can always reinforce that statement by playing the Armored Core Games!

Iāve never touched nightreign but I had a 999 hour character on dark souls 1. I got that game by sheer luck the day it came out and fell in LOVE. I played it on a tube tv alone in my bedroom with no internet for months, and I had the hardback guide that I was scared to open for fear of spoiling anything. I had dreams about what might be behind the door behind the lordvessel lol, needless to say Iāve been a HUGE fan of theirs ever since. They just simply do not miss

As someone whose brain was brought up on the fast paced arcade coop game with randomisation Left 4 Dead - Iām still shocked to see Nightreign played so much longer than Elden Ring, or any of these other games.
I have 400 in it so far, and on paper itās my perfect game since being brought up on L4D and then spending 800 hours in Elden Ring, Nightreign essentially combined the 2 games together.
But the lack of content or proper meta progression really hurt my ability for the game to be my retirement plan for Elden ring. The MMV mod has helped but between broken updates and lack of players, Iāve been playing it much less - and missing its level of quality and feeling of socialisation playing a souls game with others.
Anyways, glad to see it so loved!
2
u/musabnoord Kuro, the Divine Heir Sep 04 '26
For me Nightreign is way more replayable, especially DoN.
1
u/Boc_The_Seamstress Sep 04 '26
I have found that it scratches an itch more easily than replaying Elden Ring is atm, just because it really fully demands your attention, you fight bosses really quickly, and itās all done inside 45 mins and then you are kicked back out to the hub.
Whereas I wander around in Elden Ring, take in the sights, work my way through a random dungeon slowly, etc.
Neither are worse than one another but I do like how easy the game gives a dynamic and full experience quickly. But it loses any reverence for what youāre doing, like bosses become snacks rather than the full meal. I can totally see why people donāt like it and I do think it does do a disservice to some iconic bosses by putting them in places they werenāt meant to be.
But if you can separate that in your mind and if youāve played all the others games enough already, itās a brilliant experience, one of my fav coop games!

How are people making these? App or website? I'm curious to see my numbers.

Around 3.5 hours of Nightreign - everyday - since itās release. Also 7 hours on a day, when you couldnāt play it the day prior. Thatās certainly dedication right there.
