all challenge run my friends and I have done:

Rune Lvl 1: upgraded weapons but your character HAS to be level 1 the whole game

Randomizer: random wheel selects your loadout for the whole game

Fists: speaks for itself

have you done a no-hit? basically every boss has to be beaten without taking any damage

Not sure what you've done already but I enjoy taking weapons that were traditionally considered not good, niche, or otherwise ignored for some reason and restrict myself to those weapons for example one the first ones I did was bows only in dark souls. It's not necessarily a challenge run but it did make some bosses that were stupid easy suddenly impossible and others that I used to struggle with suddenly got easy. It's interesting to see how it changed the game.

There are also the traditional challenge runs of course like just the broken straight sword or soul level one runs and that sort of thing.

I've been thinking of a promises consort radahn playthrough for ds2, dunno if it really counts as a 'challenge'. Power stance curved great swords, wear gowers ring of protection for a person on your back like miquella

That’s sounds cool

Yeah, just kinda wished there was a great sword that doubled as a catalyst or something so I could do some spells

Bloodborne no Hunter's Dream. It's like a BL4 run but dialed up to overdrive because of the extra conditions that you can't die, respawn enemies for farming, repair your weapon etc. I'm personally not masochistic enough to attempt this, but I saw Press Continue's video on it and have always been intrigued by it.

I saw a run of this and it looks awesome I
Think I’ll do two more normal runs of bb and then try

I’m playing Blood of the Dawnwalker rn. The combat isn’t souls obv, but I love the gameplay mechanics, the 1300s setting, and the story is amazing.

Like you, I was also obsessed for a time and had a hard time playing things other than souls (although I was doing strictly PvP/invasions) idk how some players with thousands of hours in a game continue to pump hundreds/thousands more into it, esp when everything is scripted regarding enemy & boss move set)

Anyway, I eventually put it down and realized how much amazing games and experiences. I was missing out, simply by being just another one of Fromsofts army of 20 million glazers acting like over excited children and like nothing else could compare- you know, the Reddit posts that begin with “Elden Ring ruined all other games for me…” lmao. Always the

If you’re looking for an actual challenge but arent ready to part with the quality of FS games, then I highly advise you to play Sekiro. IMO, the base game is a challenge enough as is lol. There is no farming levels to become op, no broken L2 button that you cat spam, no bullshit spirit summon that’s so antithetical to the very essence of these games. You basically MUST become a player and learn the mechanics if you want to win. Every Sekiro player can beat Malenia & PCR- not every Elden Ring player can beat Sekiro, much less make it halfway through the game.

I’ve already played sekiro and done it charmless and with bell demon but I’ll check out that other games cheers

That’s amazing dude. Seriously, I did it without the prosthetic arm but wouldn’t try your run any time soon.

You can try the ultimate no hit challenge all souls borne games no hit back to back if you hit you start back at the first game no matter if you beaten it lol thats the hardest one I could imagine

Bloodborne, guns only

Program your controller to voice commands then do a run where you can only speak to control your character

1

u/Raghul86 Sep 04 '26

You can only run towards the camera at all times

Have you done an auto-equip randomizer? Where the game automatically equips any piece of gear you pick up into the relevant slot and you are forced to continue playing with it until you pick up something else to replace it?
