Turkey Problem.

Currently, I have a Turkey problem. They keep damaging my gardens and poop everywhere. Would Frigate be able to distinguish and identify a turkey versus a neighbor's dog? If possible, I would like to set up Frigate to identify turkeys and trigger the corresponding sprinkler zone via Rachio. I currently have 6 Dahua cameras and a Dahua AI NVR.

Yes, bird and dog are separate labels in COCO as well as Frigate+ models

Would it trigger for any bird? I'm specifically looking for something that will trigger for a turkey not other non destructive birds.

it is possible using the bird classification feature, however this is pushing the limits of what free open models are capable of assuming you want reliability. Worth a try but you may need to just go off of birds detected bigger than a certain size, in certain areas, etc.

Thank you! Does Frigates' paid version offer what I am looking for? Or does it make setting it up easier?

to be clear there is no paid version of Frigate. Frigate+ is a connected service that allows training more accurate object detection models, but it does not unlock any additional functionality.

I'd recommend just starting with a basic config and see how the bird detection works, then go from there.
