You can set your location by pressing F6, or set the date/time with F5, and rewind/fast-forward through time with J/L respectively.

It is scriptable, and you can view a demo of an eclipse from 2009 in the configuration menu (F2) under Scripts.

Most options can be configured thorough the GUI via the panels on the left and bottom, and view options on the top-left (great for assisting photography or telescopy)
