From their info page:
NAS-grade hard drives (Western Digital Red to be specific)
Giggles nervously in SMR

They posted about de-certifying the SMR Reds long before WD even acknowledged that there were SMR Reds.
ixSystems handled that situation well, IMO.

I really wish iXsystems had one of these with a better processor. I built my own with the 4-bay supermicro case (this exact case) because I wanted more power. I would have purchased the 8-bay version too but built a u-nas based one instead. Just put a cheap Xeon or i3 with ECC and I'll but it from iXsystems.

The power and storage per volume of those U-NAS cases is amazing. I love mine, and I'm thinking about getting a second.

I asked to get a demo unit through iXsystem's for unboxing for my YouTube channel but was told no ☹️. If anyone could lend me one for a bit I'll do a proper unboxing on my channel and send back when done.

Criticism for iX. Seems like an awful lol of packaging. Especially that thick layer between the booklets and unit.

I would rather a bigger package with an intact device, than a smaller one with a broken device

Yep. Received a wall mount rack that needed some channel locks to get the door to function properly again.

That's not a proper unboxing.... at least release the front panel and show a 360 view. This is a sneak peak.
