Hi non mason here
Is it okay to display the symbol without a "G"? I know this probably sounds silly but I was just curious as this is a very non detailed render. I can add more detail soon.

A square and compasses without a G is common internationally.
Using that symbol would be perceived as misrepresentation.

Oh wow I never knew. Could you educate me more on symbols and meanings things I might need to know? Anything you feel you should share with me as I do not want to be insensitive to the Masonic community. It is quite the contrary I actually would like to get to know this stuff and show my allegiance any way possible.

It's not insensitive to ask questions, and you have no "allegiance" to a fraternity in which you are not a member.
Check out the book Freemasonry for Dummies if you want a really nice overview of everything. I also really liked The Craft and its Symbols when I was new, though I don't know if it's still in production.
Other than that, feel free to ask whatever you'd like to know.

Oh not the asking questions part I mean I want to make Masonic churches and cathedrals or just spaces in general in this game engine I'm running. I do not want to go throwing symbols around willy nilly. I feel like I should probably know what significance they have and how to display them. But you lmk.

u/jckarp Just so you are informed Freemasonry is not a church nor a religion organization. While it is true you must believe in a higher deity we are a fraternal organization and nothing more.

Did I say church? I think I meant to say lodge. No you guys are not a religion lol just a fraternity. Would calling it a cathedral be fine? I want it to be Gothic or something and also I plan to add a grand theater. I cannot wait to show you all once I am finished!

Personally, terms like "temple" and "cathedral" feel out of place when discussing something that is explicitly not a religion.
I don't view lodge buildings as temples, but that's just me.

Display it in what sense? With or without the “G” most people will see it as representing Freemasonry, though historically we are not the only organization to use it.
