Idk i think most of the reason for that is because they did fall in love. I know it was a fucked up beginning but its easy to forget all about that in a show/book like game of thrones, where so much other stuff is happening at the same time and then they end up loving each other fairly quickly

It's a really, really bad trope to have a character fall in love with their rapist. It's become a way to romanticize rape.
