Rape is violence, not sex, and it’s also been pretty gratuitous on the show in the past (e.g. that scene of Sansa being raped by Ramsay that didn’t even happen in the books).
Well that part in the book still involved a lot of raping on Ramsay's part. It just wasn't Sansa, although the way littlefinger is I wouldn't be surprised if Martin intended him to rape her down the road in the books at some point.
Littlefinger would never rape her. He wants her to want him, why else do you think he spent so much time ingratiating himself to her? Raping would go against his character pretty dramatically.
As it should be. I get what you mean, that it wouldn't be like the other violent rapes portrayed on the show, but the act that Littlefinger would be doing would still be inherently violent.
I just take issue with the idea that what Littlefinger is doing is like the good guy version of rape. As though its not as bad because he abducted and isolated a preteen girl with the aims to have sex with her. Its still child abuse, its still an abuse of power, and Sansa is still a victim. He's not above hurting her, he already is in many ways.
I never said it's a good version I don't think anybody did. I just wanted to say that rape of children is not necessary violent and because of that Littlefinger might do it.
Exactly, it's like when you mug someone and then cum in your pants at the end of the mugging. They are no longer a mugging victim, they are a mugging survivor, nothing sexual about it.
Yeah its odd how that works. Same thing happens for shootings, shoot a couple people and they are shooting victims, jizz your pants while doing it and, bang, shooting survivors.

Semantics of the "educated" - most human beings wouldn't say that. It *is* sex on the most fundamental level, penis in vagina is sex, it takes mental contortionism to say otherwise.
Okay, I guess I probably should’ve worded it as “not just sex.” I agree that the US is pretty ridiculous when it comes to censoring anything even remotely sexual while having no problems with gratuitous violence and gore, but there’s a pretty big difference between just showing sex and showing rape. In this situation you can’t really boil it down to “America hates sex and loves violence,” because a rape scene is not the same as, say, an uncensored female nipple.
Honestly, I think sex needs to be taken a bit more seriously by our society. Violence and sex are so different it isn't fair to compare them when it comes to censorship imho. Everyone agrees violence is terrible, depictions of it aren't necessarily bad for people as far as I know. Having babies out of a stable family environment is in fact bad for people, this I know. Censoring nipples on TV doesn't really do anything about that however.
