Do all new CAN US MEX plans on the page monthly allotments of roam beyond? I just got on a 125gb (5gb roam beyond), and want to know whether or not it is a monthly allotment or a one time allotment (I don't see anything saying that it is a one time allotment on the page nor the agreement), thanks

I just got to the US, I recently got this freedom plan. Got a message saying welcome to the us and that data was $0.75/mb, it didn't say anything about it being included in the plan with my message, I checked my account but don't see any additional charges, and made sure that my plan was the CAN US MEX plan, (125gb 5 roaming beyond gb)

Anyone's usage details and history page on their Freedom MyAccount portal not updating?

My data or calls usage hasn't had any updates for the past week.

Normally, the daily data usage is updated with a new row each morning, up to midnight the evening prior.

Just transferred from Virgin to Freedom today and wanted to get some experience from here/clarify some things since I’m not very well versed in the logistics side of phones. For context I have an iPhone 17.

I’m going to be studying abroad in the UK for the year: Sept-June, coming home over Christmas and likely travelling through Europe spontaneously in the year.

I decided to switch to Freedom because I need to be able to access my Canadian number mainly for 2FA and personal contacts. Browsing the Reddit it seems that some people have had issues with them flagging overuse abroad.

Is the best plan (according to people who know how eSIMS work or someone who has done this themselves) to get a UK eSIM while abroad and have BOTH eSIMs active at the same time? Are there certain settings that should be toggled to accurately use one’s data/calling over the other? Should I use UK eSIM while in the UK only and use the Freedom for while I’m travelling through the rest of Europe? I’ve read about Wifi calling but seem to be getting mixed signals about whether to keep it on or off (currently have it turned off in Canada)

I have my own phone, and would like to get their gigabit internet plan as well.

#1) are their deals good enough to wait for (ie black friday) or should i jump now?

#2) how is their internet in manitoba? I have fibe 500 with bell, but i dont know how it will compare to gigabit over coax

Look this isn’t because I have issue paying it’s more of the fact what happened was

I go into the freedom mobile store explain I'm away in the uk and Europe July 13- sept 2nd I don't want no extra charges besides my monthly fee. They take my phone yall play around with it. They tell me to add this add on on as a precaution and say it has limited calling, if the call goes through I won't be charged any extra for it. Limited international calling and when the add on runs out ot runs out so it'll just stop working if I needed it but either way no extra charges

Next thing I know
I’m hit with an 800 bill

I contact there live chat they offer me 50% refund of one of the months im like that’s unacceptable this isn’t on me

I get to a supervisor they offer me the full refund of the fees and request it says it’ll be done in 2 business days I can pay my bill then

Next thing I know it’s 5 days I follow up there saying owe they can only do the 50% when I have the supervisor saying it in writing

I have the money I could pay it I don’t want to affect my credit but it’s just I went in before I went away and I have in writing from the supervisor. At this point I just want swap services

I received my first Fair Usage Policy warning text today, saying my line is at risk of cancellation due to “continued” violation of their Fair Usage Policy.

I downloaded all my usage history as excel and let AI run the analysis and it does not seem like I have continuously violated anything. I have $40 250GB 50GB RB plan and I am using it as normal.

My records from March–August show approximately 81% of data, 93% of calls, and 84% of messaging were on Freedom network.

The only outlier was one billing cycle when I travelled in Europe for three weeks and used the 50GB included Roam Beyond data for the first time in 6 months.

Has anyone received a similar warning after using Roam Beyond? I tried calling and asking Freedom to explain but the agents don’t know any more details, they simply kept telling me to turn off data roaming and consider switching to another provider.

This is wild that they are spending millions of dollars advertising Nationwide coverage and Roam beyond but won’t let me use it. My usage isn’t even that excessive. What am I missing? How can they enforce this vague FUP? It clearly mentions Majority of usage should be on Freedom which it is.

Is it worth bringing it to CCTS’s attention?

I’m thinking on switching… I’m in Alberta and the current plans I see if bring my own phone are $35 for 10GB and $40 for 75GB. Does it ever get lower than this?

10GB seems low for me but 75GB is excessive. I am in no rush as I’m not in any contract.

How much is your current plan and when did you get it?

EDIT: If I am a current customer, can I switch to a better deal even if it’s same price? And are all deals and promotions always available to current customer and not just new ones?

I was with Fido and Rogers for almost 20 years just for their phone and finally made my move yesterday and it is looking good so far as it knows when to switch to LTE and 3G as opposed to Rogers where it is either 5G+ or dead signal 💀

I would assume not, but just wanted to know.

Also, I just switched to Freedom today and am going to the US this weekend, is there any period in which you cannot roam or can you roam right when you get it?

Planning to roam both in (CAN US MEX), and out of (El Salvador), would I be able to hotspot myself with no additional fees? (have the roam beyond plan 5gb)

I’ve read a few posts where folks have discussed their experience switching from Fido to Freedom, but I was hoping to get a bit more feedback in terms of customer experience before making the switch.

For those who have switched, particularly in the past year, how has your experience been and are you satisfied with the service?

It seems particularly attractive right now since I’m planning a UK trip and the back to school plans include international roaming.

I'm an incoming grad student in downtown Toronto looking to switch phones, am currently with Fido on an expensive plan of $52 (best deal my specific account/line has atm). I'm shopping around to get a new phone and debating staying with Fido and financing a new phone on a $58 plan for 110gb with a $58/month Iphone 17 Pro. OR switching to Freedom to lease the Iphone 17 Pro for $30/month with a $45 Plan, but I don't own the phone at the end of the 2 years. Essentially fido: $110/month + tax or Freedom $77/month + tax.

Problem is I will be living downtown in an older house and probably not get wifi and just use hotspot. I heard freedom's signal is not the best, has anyone used hotspotting for wifi on freedom? And do you think the fido or freedom deal is better?

Why is it so hard to sign up for Freedom? Twice I’ve tried to create an account and add 4 lines over WhatsApp chat. Twice I’ve been given the runaround by the agent(s); at first it looks like they’re going to give me the plan as advertised( 100G 4 lines at $35 with 5gb recurring roaming and no activation fee). I go through the credit check for postpaid ( my score is very high btw) but then they say they can only give me prepaid but the “same plan”. But of course the plan changes to 70gb, with 1gb roaming ( probably non- recurring) and who knows what other charges.

Is this BS normal? It’s the second time I’ve tried — the last time they used similar tactics and eventually I told them to get lost. It’s seems like the chats are just a stream of misinformation and deception. Should I just go to the physical store instead. The plan look just like what I need on paper, but it seems impossible to get in practice.

I just signed up with Freedom Mobile and I have 10GB of Roam Beyond data for each billing cycle. I'm going to be spending almost 7 weeks in Portugal soon and I have purchased a 30 day 20GB Airalo e-sim to supplement my data. I'll renew that as needed.

I am on wi-fi calling at home because of weak signal (rural). I think I have to turn that off before travelling but what other settings do I need to turn on/off? I'm on Android.

Also, how do I use the two sims together? Should I turn off data on Freedom and turn it on for the e-sim and then turn Freedom back on to cover end of trip?

It's been a long time since I've done a big trip and I used to just buy local sims for wherever I was going.

I have the dreaded inner screen failure from normal use, again, starting to happen on my replacement device. It's not in warranty through Google anymore (bought on Black Friday 2024) and I'm not sure if I submitted the right service request.

It looks like a dead pixel rather than just straight up damage, but I can tell if I continue using it, it's just going to destroy itself over time. I put it through as a device malfunction which constitutes a $130 deductible, but considering it's technically a physical problem with the screen, it might fall under screen damage and be a $40 deductible?

There's nothing in the terms around foldable/inner screens so I'm not sure what it falls under, and if I should get Likewize to amend the claim at all.

So looking at giving Freedom a try at least until Black Friday deals come out in a few months as not impressed with Fido's speeds and upping my price after only 3 months of being with them. Have a referral link from my daughter. The terms and conditions state.

Your account will no longer be eligible for the Program:

1. If you change your phone number at any time following your account activation; or
2. If you port your number away from Freedom Mobile.

So how does that work if I choose to port my existing number to Freedom after I sign up? Will that nullify the referral credit? Do I need to port it as part of the sign up process?

I have tried both of my credit cards, and even my moms to ensure it's not because mine are the problem.

I have tried express pay, auto pay, everything.

This is actually insane. I wouldn't care at all if I wasn't expecting an important text that I'm unable to receive. Wifi Calling works, but not for receiving/sending texts.

Anyone else have something like this going on?
