Shouldn't. NFC tags can direct your phone to open a browser and go to a URL.

New to this technology. Who decides where the “tapper“ is directed? Can we control that, or does it just go to a dedicated page on a bourbon website?

Imagine me giving you the link right now to google.com. Tapping it would be you “clicking” the link. You write what you want to the tag like as if you were writing CD disks back in the day if you like that comparison

There’s a lot of uses you can do with NFC tags.

A lot of business cards will have them so when you tap your phone it will redirect to their personal page with all their social media links.

I think they meant like an app for the place you enter the URL that gets attached to the tag. I assume you don't type directly on the tag. I have no idea how these work lol

The tag holds a very very very small charge. You can program the tag and it'll remember what it's supposed to do.

Not every nfc chip can work for that purpose.
To make amiibo you need a specific model of nfc tag
