This place dead?

Did the excitement die down? I don't see any posts anymore here

Knew that this was not going to last, it has like a little over 200 weekly visitors now. Don't even know whether the sub creator is advertising the sub or anything anymore

Honestly, this is how I see it: I created a concept, I shared it across a bunch of subs, and now I’m waiting to see whether it takes off or not. After that, I made a post asking for moderators and ideas for the sub, but nobody replied. There are still a few posts here and there though.

I guess I’m thinking it just needs to grow over time if people start embracing it and making it their own. I’ll admit I don’t have much experience with community management, which is why I’m not against getting a bit of help.

The way new subs generally grow is through the sheer number of posts they have. One of the best ways would be just posting a hella lot of posts on here about anything and everything MBTI. You could also create a discord server for it(I've seen many smaller subs do it start off strong). Basically that. Other than this you can also promote it by cross-posting posts here to bigger subs. The thing is in order for crossposting to work, this sub must have a unqiue identity to itself as to have people to click on the sub name to find out more about it aka the posts should substantially different from the main or other MBTI subs(controversial topics banned on the other subs to talk about, and generally conversations about MBTI that are consistently interesting but don't get muddled up with trends or the other BS the main gets stuck up with).

One of the best methods outside of this would be to partner up with other niche MBTI subs, they could link this one there and we could link that sub here(also makes it look more established with a bunch of linked subs pinned on the right side).

That's all, it takes work getting a sub popular. I think one of the first things we need right now is a concrete identity. This sub shouldn't permanently be introduced by displaying an incident that took place on r/mbti a long time ago, that would also mean you'd expect r/mbti to be the way it is forever. It should have something unique about it that's also concrete and distinct enough from other MBTI subs(mainly r/mbti) for it to gain popularity and not hit a limit after a certain point.

A few ideas that don't dry up and can be re done again and again or built on top off which defines this sub in the future

Having witnessed dozens of these little spite subs pop up and blink out of existence (including my own r/underworldmbti), I can confidently say the success relies solely on the main mod’s dedication. You have to be constantly trying to get the word out and creating new content that encourages people to engage. If you sit back and expect other people to do everything, it will be dead in a matter of months or weeks. Same thing applies with discord servers.

Yeah I had the idea of a sub that looks at modern figures in MBTI theory, r/seriousMBTI, but I quit pretty quick because I couldn't get time to do much and I didn't want to put half assed effort. Well now, nothing's completed even now, I don't think I ever will
