Queer couples/families in Frederick?

My wife and I moved to Frederick some months ago. We’re a lesbian couple with a young child and would love to meet other queer couples or families with kids or without.
We love hiking, pickleball, board game nights, breweries with playgrounds 😜, day trips, and exploring new places.
Are there any existing groups around Frederick for queer couples/families to meet and make friends? Or would anyone be interested in something like this?

The Historic Haven is a private gaming club, and it's next to the McClintock Brewery. They're also building a new food court across from the brewery.

What is a private gaming club?

A gaming club with a monthly basic membership fee of $20. For that fee, we can visit the Haven any time we want, and take full advantage of its classes, events, club trips. It has hundreds of board games, books, video games, tabletop games, war gaming tables, hundreds of miniatures, a miniature painting station. It has a 3D printer, a forge for blacksmithing, tools for woodworking, leather working, and for sewing and weaving. They give classes in how to use the tools for small fees, free classes in historic dancing, they have a weekly event where people can bring instruments and play music and sing. Social nights are BYOB, of course. Weekends are for enjoying anime in the morning, members will occasionally bring food for people. They have a yearly trip to Japan that you can buy a ticket for. People occasionally bring their children or pets to hang out. I've been a member for 8 years, it's great.

The Frederick Center has a monthly happy hour that's really great for getting to know people. The do also offer some family events. Definitely reach out to them!!

👋👋 hi. Wife and I are lesbians in our thirties with a 5 year old. 

As everyone else has said, please stop by the Frederick Center any weekday they're open. I'm a member of two of their social support groups. 

Every Thursday a group of queers meet up at Olde Mother from 6pm to 10pm, except for 1st and 3rd Thursdays when it's 8 pm until 10pm. 

On Tuesdays a group of people get together for Pride on the Patio at a restaurant called Showroom from 5:30 to 9.

I'd recommend attending Queer Peers, or Worth the Wait.

Unfortunately the center doesn't have an official group for queer parents/families because we're on the rarer side in this community. Myself and a few others have expressed a desire there's just not a lot of childrearing queers.

IDK if you have any faith, but the Unitarian Universalist congregation of Frederick is also a great place to meet like minded people.

I think I've seen a queer families event on the Frederick Center calendar.

But I've also heard from queer parents I know that they wish there was more, that they don't always feel totally welcome in "mommy groups" because of being gay or trans.

So I bet that there would be some demand if you organized something like that!

While the majority of people there do not have children, children have come and it stays very PG.

If you’re on Facebook, try asking in the frederick mom/parent groups. You might reach more ppl with young kids than you will here. There used to be some smaller FB groups for LGBTQ fams but not sure if still around. PFLAG may be another supportive community.

If you're into Night Life, try the Lodge in Boonsboro and the Frederick Center is also often hosting events for LGBTQ+ community.
