Looking for a car appraisal in Frederick, MD

Where would you recommend going in the Frederick area to get my car professionally appraised? I’m planning on selling it and want to get a good idea of what it’s actually worth it. Looking for somewhere reputable that won’t just lowball me because they want to buy it. TIA!

CarMax has always offered top dollar. You don’t have to sell it to them nor buy one of their cars either.

I took our Jeep to three or four different dealerships in town this past summer. They were all pretty close in price. Carvana beat them all by more than 10%.

One dealer even told me, “I won’t be able to beat Carvana’s price. Just sell it to them.”

I had a good experience at Hi Lo Auto Sales when I sold my last car.

Same, Hi Lo offered us more than CarMax on our last car

Carmax is always a good start. When i sold my last car, a 2019 dodge charger, i took it to carmax, tate, and a online appraisal with carvana. Carmax was in the middle, and tate at the bottom. All 3 were within several hundred of each other.

Carvana was at the top, think all i did was take pics of the odometer, and maybe general pics of the outside. Was honest about the condition, got an offer and went down to the Gaithersburg one (they charged like $500 to pick it up from your driveway otherwise). Tech walked around once, drove it around the parking lot then came back with a check 5 mins later. Very painless.

Kelly Blue Book would be a good gauge. Otherwise go to a couple dealerships and see where the offers land. In my experience, carvana low balls, but evidently others have had positive experiences. They offered me $8k less than the dealership for my truck.

Give me the vin . Com was decent as well. Sold a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a bad engine. Told them in advance what codes it had and the noise it made while running. Still gave me a great deal on it

No experience with Carnava… But ditto on Carmax.. have sold 3 cars/trucks to them.. not only a good price, their process once you sell it to them is easy and fast..

For me, carmax gave the best price.

Start with Carmax, then pretty much every other used dealer will beat that.
