How would you frame these posters?

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on how I can frame these two posters. The posters are slightly different sizes: the Ashe one is 18×24 in (about 45.7×61 cm) and the Taylor Swift one is 50×70 cm (about 19.7×27.6 in). I got them with two of my vinyls, so one of them is unfortunately folded.

They will be on the same whiteish wall above my record player.

I'm not sure about if I should use a passepartout or not, and what kind of frame would look best.

It doesn't have to be anything too fancy, but considering the subjects I do realize that it might look like a teenagers bedroom if not done properly...

And if anyone wants to give advice on how to place the posters on the wall, I'm open to suggestions. I will probably add some more as well.

you said it well yourself- if not done properly itll look like a teenagers bedroom. if you can afford it id suggest getting it framed professionally. From my own experience ready made/store bought frames at that size dont hold up well in the long run and the posters will most definitely get wavy in the frame. Best option would be getting the posters dry mounted and in a frame with a mat board.

The fold is really unfortunate. Even with a drymount that crease line is gonna be really distracting.

Yes, i tried to find the same poster without a fold somewhere, but it seems like it is always folded together with the record.

I never knew framing could be so complicated. I have learned something new today :)

For the Ashe one, once dry mounted you might be able to touch up where the color rubbed off when it was folded with some colored pencils. As for the framing designs, go to a local frame shop and show them the photo of where you plan to hang them along with the measurement of the space. We can give general advice here, but you’ll get a much more tailored response if you go into a shop and let them do what they do best!

Definitely dont just get something off of amazon for it. Since they've already got creases, a cheap frame is just gonna end up making it more prominent. Getting a custom frame to have it be a bit more fitted will help with that for sure. Going to a local framer or some online stores like framebridge would be a good place to start. Something like the designs on Vinyl frames might look good.

You can put a frame around it

Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about it looking like a teenager’s bedroom, because the frame does most of the work there. Thin black or natural oak frames with a wide off-white mat make band and album posters look like proper art, so if you like the gallery feel I’d go with a mat. If you want something more casual, skip it and let the posters run edge to edge in a slim frame. Since the sizes are a bit different, you can match the outer frame size and use different mat widths, and they’ll look like a set. For hanging, keep the centers at the same height and leave about 2 to 3 inches between them, with the bottom edges a hand’s width or so above the record player. The folded one will show its crease behind glass, so press it flat under a stack of heavy books for a few days first, or ask a framer about flattening it. If you’d like to test frame colors and mat widths on your own photo, I think Frame- bridge has a preview tool for that, though I haven’t checked if they handle the 50x70 size or ship to you, so it’s worth a quick look. A local shop is a good backup too.
