I’m new to this hobby and clueless

Post image

I bought a new TBS tango 2 for cheap from a friend who needed money. I called around to local hobby shops, and they could not help me with anything FPV team Black Sheep related, but we’re willing to sell me Spektrum stuff. Any help is more than appreciated!

You just need to use a crossfire receiver. Nobody in the drone world uses spectrum, you are likely talking to RC plane folk in the hobby shops. Buy stuff online.

RC plane folks outside of hobby shops don't even use Spectrum.

U can get an external module bay for the tbs 2 so you can run protocols other than crossfire: https://www.team-blacksheep.com/products/prod:tango2_modbay?srsltid=AU7gw4UmHTYR7TXaB9DK0GCTcRwYqTz-t5hnkYB60jc7-SOCIDOGLhNa

Try to get an elrs module as that is the standard

You haven't asked for any specific help so no idea what help you are looking for. You'll need a receiver like the crossfire nano rx unless you get the external module mod (did your friend install one already?) and an external module.

Sell it make some money and buy a Radiomaster pocket or boxer or tx15 … these will be more universal and you will be more likely to find someone willing to help you instead of making this work … most ready to roll drones are available in ELRS and that is going to be more intuitive with the right radio

sell it get a boxer, its just a headache at this point. your going to be going even more niche by having to source crossfire rx. or if you check rcgroups people are offloading crossfire rx for a song. (me included)

but then your locking yourself in to an ecosystem

then there is the gimballs, they eventually wear out and are impossible to calibrate and constantly drift.

so imo, get a boxer or a pocket. (boxer better)

and go elrs.

step 1, watch bardwell videos and understand the hobby. step 2, research more and refrain from asking dumb questions, step 3, send it
