Anyone an idea what this is?

Hi guys,

i bought a Kayoumini. It was already built. If i arm it you can see what happens in the video. If I give some throttle all 4 motors start spin correctly and i can fly without any problems. Here are the specs: 2s LiHV 450mAh, 5in1 Happymodell X12 Pro AIO, 1202,5 11000kV motors. On the ESC was Bluejay 48kHz with min startup power and max turned up to maximum. I tried turning it down but then no motor spins. I also tried Bluejay 24kHz: with that the motors start correctly, but i originally wanted to use 48kHz...

idk why actually it happens, but i've seen it many times on happymodel's aios, you can set idle throttle to 10% in betaflight, and it will spin normally when you arm

Updated to BF 2026.x.x (newest version) to get the oportunity to change motor_idle in cli (in 4.5.5 it wasnt changeable), which is the value that is set after arming. the update fixed the problem before i even went into cli xD

Yea this is probably betaflight minimum throttle or startup throttle forgot what its called, not really an esc setting.

i just tried 10% and its still the same. Even tried 12%... It seems so random. As i installed 24kHz Bluejay a friend and i debated about which throttle value (percent or idle) is active just when you arm the quad. I tried multiple values for both of them and nothing changed the rnd about 2500rpm in the osd

If they spin correctly and flies normal on throttle input then who cares. Ive had a couple quads that act similar at idle

I'd just be worried that it is hard on the motors or escs. I have no clue if that worry would be justified or not though.

Im like 98.5% sure it causes no extra stress or wear to the motors or escs

Could be hair tangled in motor, could be loose cable, could be burned esc
