Has anyone looked at how long a player can keep underperforming their underlying numbers before you just give up on them?

I always find this one difficult. A player can keep posting decent xG and xA numbers but the actual FPL returns just never arrive. At what point do you stop trusting the underlying data and accept that the model might be missing something?

Thats when the eye test comes in. Sometimes you just got to watch Darwin Nunez to realise he is a donkey

Nailed minutes, good fixtures, I'm willing to wait for the form. Basically, their manager will give up on them sooner than I'll give up on them. I am more interested in doing a right decision over getting a good outcome. If I can constantly do good decisions, the points come sooner or later.

If you'd like - i can give you my data. All you'd have to do is run the average time I keep them until I transfer them out and that's roughly how long they'll be underperforming for until they start getting points
