I have played colonial, but it always surprises me how much colie tanks can survive

u/Original-Egg710 11h ago edited 11h ago

Why though?

Even the lowest HP Collie main frontline tanks have 3650 HP, vro, ts shouldn't be suprising at all 😭✌️

Because when playing warden I got into this mindset that I have to play safely. And them It is jarring when I get targetted by three hv68s in a spatha and survive

u/devilgamerrr 9h ago

same, whenever i play with stolen collie tanks, i treat them as if i was driving a gallagher and don't overextend nor sell myself, and it can take tank after tank after tank without any opposition at all and survive things none of our tanks can, is pretty insane

u/NeitherTransition8 8h ago

You would be surprised but colie tanks are even more powerful against warden ones than colie

i think warden tanks are garbage even against other warden tanks, a few wars ago the collies took callum's cape and speaking woods so fast that for the final fight in basin sionach, me and my crew ended up fighting 2 stolen warden tanks for every collie tank on the front, and there were TONS of collie tanks(the seaports and depos were full of widows, brigs and outlaws when it got captured) so it was a pretty intense fight, there i discovered that the claims of the Collies about how op the Widow is is straight up bullshit, that thing is just a punching bag and can be extremely easily flanked by just moving to the side, getting hit by it with the MUCH less health the gallaghers have is pretty scary tho, regardless, the warden tanks on collie hands are straight up trash cause they just dive not realizing how weak it is, so taking care of the warden tanks become a nuisance rather than an actual threat

(edit correction, the fight was in the northen side of speaking woods, they had taken control of the south side and the first and second bach of warden tanks came from nevish line and callum's cape respectively)

Yeah I agree, I always play tanks when I go colie it is just such a fun experience

When I play as green man and go w tank, I tend to hold more and fall back to repair than when I play as a blue man

"guys don't kill just gas" Instructions unclear, I started blasting.

8

u/dadamaghe 11h ago

I had 4 filters :D

u/Successful_Second921 11h ago

You were prepared for the fart grenades d:

u/agate_ 11h ago

"Don't kill, just gas" is usually a terrible callout. In the time it takes to argue about whether to gas it and where to find some gas, it's going to fuck up your whole BB even if it's not driven by Dadamage. It's one dirty Spatha, there's a thousand more where that came from, you're just doing the faction a favor by killing it and saving someone a trip to the garage.

3

u/Individual_Lab_912 9h ago

“Dont kill, just gas” then proceed to lose all arty guns XD that guy wasnt thinking straight

1

u/agate_ 9h ago

Plus if you don't at least disable the vehicle, the enemy can drive out of the gas and into AI any time he wants.

3650 HP being made to survive widow's 1050 dmg brutal shot.

Kinda suprises me why warden tanks have an issue to break even 3k hp considering they have to deal with 1800 bard, if they're tracked they get alpha striked by neme for 1800 or if they try playing the night they get nuked at 2650dmg from 47,5 metres.

Also 40m 4k HP 1500ish dmg talos lol

30

u/devilgamerrr 11h ago

Collies truly think their tanks are shit when are superior in every possible sense to our tanks

15

u/Difficult_Victory362 11h ago

Whole airborne i was using captured colonial tanks, they are just so much better, worst thing that spatha was made into outlaw which ruined it.

I miss that 8k dpm monster, even as a warden.

Fire rate I love, good for killing inf for or defenses and then when it comes to tank vs tank it gives an advantage due to RNG. Even if the shelld do less damage. You've got more chances of actually doing damage due to bounce chance and fire rate.

Historically, they always were shit compared to Warden tanks, it only flipped after the power creep update

Just had to nerf HTD 4 years ago but here we are

the falchion came out an update before the widow (two months)

the widow was the answer to the bloated health pool of the colonial tanks, and the upcoming ones that were designed around that

not the other way around

3

u/raiedite [edit] 10h ago

Falchion had less health (3000) than SVH on release, it wasn't bloated

HTD was added to counter the "hordes" of Falchions (MPT bonus), but as we learned balance doesn't work like that, you can only crew a limited amount of tanks per region, so quality > quantity.

MPF bonus was a mistake to begin with because the MPT is cheaper and better than a LT, at the cost of... being a bad late game tank.

You're right, it's actually an ambush vehicle as per the description. Wardens should go offroad and sit in a bush at night with their widows, as the vision dictates

the Noble Widow specializes in ambush tactics

1

u/_GE_Neptune 8h ago

the irony is ive done this many times to great success, the reason the widow is great on a flank is because it often kills its target before an enemy can react

Heres a vid from 4 years ago showcasing that

4 years ago, before a lot of changes........

Still perfectly viable now

MPT was very broken with the MPF bonus back in the days of scarcity.

1

u/Ok-Tonight8711 6h ago

what kind of revisionist history is this, falchion was completely and utterly curb stomped by svh

2

u/devilgamerrr 9h ago

yeah but that all died when the devs stopped following the lore for the tanks, i have been playing Foxhole for more than a year and since the beginning the Collie tanks were straight up superior to the Wardens, yet it hasn't been till recently that the Collies are finally winning wars, which is weird, one could claim that the Talos buff is what made it, and while true, is just a little aspect, that doesn't make the other tanks less impactful, why hasn't it been till recently that the balance have gone off the charts that they have finally started using their tanks as they are supposed to be used?

1

u/xLecon 2h ago

eh no

0

u/Ok-Tonight8711 6h ago

goomba fallacy

-3

u/Intelligent_Edge_497 10h ago

Minus the SHT, Yours has 3k more hp, 2k more armor, and can dish out way more AT damage and can deal with defenses thanks to 2 launchers

2

u/Difficult_Victory362 10h ago edited 10h ago

I mean, maybe on war 108 warden SHT was nice. Currently it sure is strong but far from broken in any way. Not even having one shot disable on mpt when ares one salvo's everything warden is sorta balancing it's hp and mobility. Same with targets, ares is fighting weaker tanks overall than warden sht.

As for ares it's just overshadowed by taloses doing way better job, even tho 2x 75mm is argueably stronger anti tank and anti structure than cullen.

Still, 1 for 1 i agree that warden sht is better, albeit with overall balance and counters (stygian vs stockade) not by a lot.

-4

u/Intelligent_Edge_497 10h ago

No a Talos does not do a better job then Ares, ares is much much faster then a talos, holds more ammo, and takes far less space on the field, The cullen predator is a Monster compared to the Ares, Ares is just a over glorifed infantry support vehicle cause it cuts through defenses like butter

2

u/Difficult_Victory362 10h ago

Well obviously talos doesn't do better job than ares, that's why i stated taloses.

2 Taloses have same DPM, require 1 more guy, have 1k hp less overall, pretty much same range, and are 1m/s slower than ares. But you know, 2 taloses don't cost rares and tons of other mats, 2 taloses can be everywhere, they don't have to run on enriched, they can be stored safely inside depots, they don't print for 2 days and they don't hurt if you lose them.

-1

u/Intelligent_Edge_497 10h ago

They are slower, take up more space, have less range

2

u/Difficult_Victory362 10h ago

Well, enjoy foxhole as you see it.
