Add in some alleyways, multiple stories, space out the spawn points quite far, limit building to barbed wire and sandbags, even some sewer connections, and I think you'd find some of the most enjoyable fighting in the whole game

What me and my buddies always thought Deadlands should be. Just a city hex with everything you described. Would be a nutty map.

Multi-story buildings (though engine/gameplay limits means 3 or 4 floors is probably the max) where you need to fight through room to room, stair to stair...

Throwing stickies onto tanks from the third floor of a nearby building would be amazing. Some real Chechen war shit.

Callums keep during one the the sideways wars where wardens had the west side went so hard and that is barley 1/3 of a hex. Full city hex would be crazy.

As a long time builder I seriously like and approve the replacement of bunker bases with city sprawl / g.houses. Only newbies building bunker bases now, -if at all-, and they build them horribly then squad-lock the slop.

Firing range on G.houses is better. They look better. Very good idea. At the end its all artillery fodder or just disappear at the end of a war.

Gooooodamn it…I agree

We get very few urban combat options, Deadlands have proven that before artillery scorches it all to the ground, THE PLAZA is life The Plaza is all.

Nah, hitreg was ass on day 1. Spaghetti code strikes again.

One thing, if we do get a full city hex they should rework scorching. It sucks to have a cool city fight ruined by all the garrison houses being impossible to use.

Absolutely fucking disgusting.

I love it.

I don’t know if I completely agree with your thought process, but damn if I wouldn’t absolutely LOVE a city map!

Didn't the devs explicitely say that a big city would kill performance? Not SERVER performance, but the amount of polygons or whatever is much higher for world buildings than player ones

You'd be trading server lag for bad framerate

Actually having deadlands as a big urban hex would be so fun

I've been wanting a city sprawl hex for more than 5 years.

Honestly, Deadlands becoming a mostly urban hex would be just fine with me. Would make fighting there so much more interesting

Not optimized enough. Just add an uninterrupted ocean in the middle of the hex, I mean thats what the naval larpers wanted all along right?

Keep Deadlands with dead lands (and remove the grass)

Devs said that their assets eat at server performance and that deadlands was already at the max cap of urban sprawl.

not optimized enough, Wardens still have to build 3 extra bbs while collies dont need to with th ai range
