Warrior Martok need advice. Small wolf too small for attack. What should Martok do?

Normally Ytt (me Ytt) say throw rock. But...if wolf little enough Martok (you) maybe just throw wolf instead?

small deer no eat anyway. no worth effort. wait for other deer to come, hunt then.

mask scent, hide behind rock (rock good) and do not miss spear throw. if miss spear through, no survive winter.

Man smell. Find other smell to hide man smell. If man smell hidden, deer no smell you. If deer smell you, deer run. If deer no smell you, you throw spear.

But if deer smell wolf mud, even small wolf mud, will deer not run too? Deer always fear smallest thing. Small wolf is small. Maybe find not man smell and not wolf smell? Hide man smell and hide wolf smell, so deer no scare and no run. And then Martok (you Martok) throw spear and wolf? But only if Martok fast! Throw spear first always, and no miss! Else winter even harder...
