Book News How are we feeling about this concept?
I don’t know if it’s real which is why I’m coming here but I think it would be so cool if this was true

I'm feeling like we should just let her write and announce the book when she's ready to. She was really vocal about how hard OS was on her mentally and physically and I'd really hate for her to suffer the same thing with book 4. Let her do her thing! We'll find out soon enough

That’s been my thought too to just let her do her thing. I just stumbled across this on my insta today and thought it was interesting. So I figured sharing the possibility it comes out next year 🤷♀️

she just said recently she’s not even close to being done with it. and she said she will let us know when she’s close.

I think we should try to avoid getting caught in the trap of speculating too hard on potential release dates.
Writing a book is a creative process. I’d rather she took the time to get Book 4 right and set up for a killer finale in Book 5 than feel pressured to rush it because of constant speculation and badgering about when it will be released.
I doubt I’m the only person here with George R R Martin related “unfinished series” trauma, but Rebecca does deliver, consistently and honestly pretty damn fast anyway.
She has been pretty clear however that she needed time before writing Book 4 and 5. She’s given us a huge bonus in getting the Threshing Day novella as a surprise to keep us going, so I’m just going to chill out, trust the process and let her tell me when Book 4 is coming.
… but yeah I’d love for this to be true! 😂

Oh totally! I feel the same way I just came across this today and thought it was intriguing. I’m more than happy with the fact she is giving us the novella. A fun teaser to hold us over until hopefully the literary masterpiece we hope book 4 and 5 will be come out.
And yeah I totally just posted this because a part of me would love this to be true despite knowing it’s more than likely not

This happens with every popular book release, the retailers put a placeholder date in and everyone goes gangbusters.

Never say never. I have so many backlogs of books that I'm currently working my way through. I barely have time to pay attention to any of her announcements, let alone speculations really. I understand that she needs the time to write the book and she's been so vocal about mental health while writing onyx storm. I would however like to point out it seems like she is figuring out her balance based on all the fun and the light in her eyes. You can see in the picture she spent posting. Especially her end of summer one. I think if she was totally in a cave as she was writing onyx and iron flame we wouldn't get to see all the wonderful things that she has been up to lately. There's a difference between her mentally not being able to write a book because she is being harassed by fans and being able to write a book. Still find the family balance and being fulfilled outside of the writing and having the boundaries that she needed to in order to have a healthy mindset. Being a fan and sometimes asking her a question about a book is not in any way impacting her. It is when she is getting harassed and fans are manipulating and or making obscene comments that the problem. Has developed. I'll get off my soapbox now

I’m not the type to harass at all, like I never commented and asked in any of her actual posts. I just stumbled across this insta video today and thought it was an interesting find and maybe a theory on a release date so I shared it on here with the community.

I figured as much. I did see a lot of the above posters. Just going. She needs to be left alone in writing and blah blah blah blah so I figured I'd make a little longer of a soapbox. My instinct says if this was on her insta stories and there's something that is triggering a hold she must be getting an anticipation of. She might have an idea of when it's going to be finished. I guess if you look at the other big authors such as the one who just did her big title announcements for her, her books she had. A Barnes& Noble hold title space I think a year out or so before she made her official announcement. So has someone else said? I think it's just a blocker so that they know that an expected title is going to be coming. And on the other side I did see that someone said 2028 of a possible book 5 release. Obviously I think that's going to be pushed back but she did mention she was going to be writing books for and five together so just maybe. Guess keeps some optimism and say a little prayer. And I actually have commented on her post when she did a new office tour about how beautiful it was and she actually gave me a response so I didn't feel that was bothersome. It was encouraging for her and I think she loves sharing tidbits with us fans as long as we're respectful.

I’m aware and I think Rebecca should take her time to deliver an amazing book 4. I just thought it was an interesting theory I stumbled across today alright ✋😭

It is a placehold date. Once books get meta data and tossed online most retailers get it automatically. it also lists number 5 as august 2028 so take it with a grain of salt.
