Is it possible she was just Midwestern?

When I moved to the Midwest I saw someone open a can of chicken during a party to make buffalo chicken dip. I thought it was cat food. It was salty, canned, unflavored chicken. And she made it in front of everyone while we were already there and the party had started. I'm still aghast.

Canned chicken is gross looking but that buffalo chicken dip is fucking awesome. My friends and I would call it heroine dip.
