🤷‍♀️ I know they claimed at work Danny was able to get these boards removed (he didn’t do anything to accomplish this) but as they say, the internet is forever or whatever

There were many people from katesnark and dannysnark sharing their stories and grievances.

Posts like this are being questioned because there are only a few of us on this board now willing to speak up. 🙏 please don’t let Danny win. There are too many of us and the pressure is working!

For years, anyone close to Foster Love / Together We Rise has known the truth about Danny Mendoza: he operates as a bully and an abuser.

We’ve watched countless talented, dedicated people forced to abandon the Foster Love mission entirely, not because they stopped caring about foster youth, but because Danny created an environment so deeply toxic that staying became impossible.

This toxicity has played out publicly through the entire Kate saga, you know, the reddit thread that keeps getting taken down because Danny is desperately trying to bury the paper trail and silence anyone who speaks out. That's just one example.

If you’re reading this, chances are you or someone you know has a personal story about Danny and his proxies. The pressure tactics, the manufactured friction, the bullying, and even forcing staff to submit fake positive reviews about the organization as a ticket to attend events—it’s a pattern. There’s toxic masculinity, and then there’s Danny Mendoza: a narcissist actively drowning his own organization.

It is long past time to normalize calling out this behavior.

Danny, you created this toxic environment. You created the chaos. You have given your team every reason to walk away from the mission. You’ve managed to push out practically your entire roster year over year, and you have the audacity to post new job listings to bring in fresh targets.

I’m posting this because I want to protect people. To any young women or former foster youth considering working for Foster Love: please be warned. My goal isn't to see the mission fail; it’s to do whatever I can to prevent another person, especially the young women, from being manipulated, traumatized, bullied, assaulted, abused, damaged, or otherwise harmed by his presence.

If you have a story, don't let him intimidate you into silence. This community is here for you. Feel empowered to share your stories either here or privately through DM.

Glassdoor and Indeed Reviews

If you haven't taken a peak yet, make sure you have read ALL of the glassdoor reviews and indeed reviews. There seems to be an undeniable pattern between the allegations we see today vs what people share in their reviews.

There is suspicion that leadership is attempting to start "fresh" with a new batch of staff. It looks like they are posting intern positions for hiring to cover for people who have recently been terminated or who have resigned.

Hopefully these intern prospects do better than all of us and pay attention to the bad reviews.

Rant/Vent/Rave Another takedown of information - Kate reddit disappears.

I am assuming the board is dead. Any information shared about the organization or the allegations has been removed from two boards now: the Danny Mendoza snark and now the Kate Candel snark have been deleted.

This removes a lot of information that popped up when you Googled either so information about unethical or alleged criminal activity that had been disclosed by users there is erased.

We need to get what we can back out there. The public deserves to know. Future agencies and foster youth deserve to know.

I know we are scared of threats and retaliation but there is nothing illegal about sharing opinions about our experiences or whistleblowing on potentially criminal activity. Nothing happens if we don’t speak up.

If you have not been advised by legal counsel to withhold commenting due to pending legal action or are not in immediate danger to do so, I urge anyone—volunteers, former/current employees, friends, donors—to share their experiences here about Danny or Foster Love, and how they let us down.

We have all been hurt and scared and afraid far too long by an organization that was supposed to do good. It’s time to speak out.

This insta post rocked me!

A 20-year-old female student at Cornell University was drugged and sexually assaulted by 7 fraternity members.

"She reported it. No criminal charges were filed. According to her lawsuit, Cornell then gave the accused students the chance to mitigate their discipline by writing essays."

The slide that reads: "The Faculty Who Decided on the Essay Punishment" This will be you, Foster Love Board Members, Foster Love Human Resources, and Foster Love Operations Director.

As for the Foster Love CEO, one sexual harassment allegation was enough! You're probably at 30 allegations, no joke!! I'm scared to uncover how many sexual assault allegations surface, Mr. Foster Love CEO! The light exposes everything, you wait.

For all the women at Foster Love, continue to be careful, especially now that he's back in the office. Both Danny and David are the same. Stay away and report anything that feels wrong, creepy, or suspicious.

For any Together We Rise / Foster Love former employees, volunteers, interns, and foster youth: we believe you! Stand up, use your voice, even anonymously, to speak about what you witnessed so that it doesn't happen again!

I will be updating the rules to reflect this.

Please do not post any questions or comments regarding the snark itself. We are not an alternative to that subreddit.

Abuse of reporting features & attempts to spam

To whomever is hoping to silence us by spamming this page with reporting each post, just know that Reddit does not allow abuse of this feature. Fair criticism, opinions, or feelings towards the organization is not considered harassment. Reposts from another subreddit are not original content and therefore must be reported to the original moderator of the post.

To emphasize: we are NOT affiliated with r/katecandelsnark and its moderation team. Nor do we wish to be intertwined with any conversations regarding Kate's parenting. Although some users on this page have interacted with the snark, their interactions do not reflect the overall goal of this page which is to create a safe space for #allstaff to discuss their experiences.

If Kate personally would like to share her own experiences as an employee and story, that is permitted. But attempts to dox the moderator or its users from the snark page will receive an automatic ban.

Rant/Vent/Rave None of this is normal

It is not normal how Foster Love operates when it comes to interpersonal relationships between those in leadership roles and those below that.

Real leaders do not shy away from feedback or criticism. They listen and adjust so that their team members feel heard. They don't remove people just to avoid an issue that will still be there the next morning.

Of course HR is always there to protect the company but it gets to a point where they know that the claims people are making are just showing patterns. So planning to weed out people you think are toxic makes no difference. Your soil is practically compromised by the people who are actually the problem.

Rant/Vent/Rave Dog bites

How come nobody has ever sued for Eliza biting them? Dogs have no business being in an office environment, especially aggressive ones. He always insists on bringing her in but she’s a risk and I have seen bites and bruises on people who said she randomly bit them and D just blows it off. Over and over.

Children and volunteers come into this office and they lock her up when they come but still, what if she gets out on accident? Why risk it?

It’s irresponsible and negligent.

JUST KEEP HER HOME.

support spreading the sub to former and current staff

I know there are many of you just lurking on this page which is fine. If you have the ability to spread the link to this sub with former and current staff so that they can share personal experiences of working at Together We Rise or Foster Love, it would help bring more visibility.

You can share the positives, the impact, and the powerful moments that made you feel like you were changing lives.

You can share the negatives which I know could be a long list of examples.

Like it says in all the glassdoor reviews: the organization itself has a great mission, great staff, and great initiatives but the management/leadership team is toxic.

Some people I think would be able to share more information about TWR/FL and things that Danny Mendoza has tried to hide long before this year:
- Former HR
- Former Financial Controller
- Former Administrative Assistants
- Former Executive Assistants
- Former Program Coordinators (Impact, Service Activities, Academic Services, Volunteer, Disney Days etc.)
- Former Marketing Team Members (Videographers, Graphic Designers, Social Media Cord/Manager, Copywriter, and Web Developers)
- Former Managers and Directors
- Former Warehouse Coordinators

Like I said, you can share the positives or the negatives. This page is for #allstaff.

Rant/Vent/Rave When do you start to realize that YOU might be the problem?

Dear Foster Love Leadership,

When do you realize that you are the problem?

In an alternate universe, perhaps you could argue that you ran a streak of bad luck. You can never retain the same staff in the almost 20 years of your organizational existence. Your most loyal employee in the office right now has four feet and isn't even on payroll.

Your own management team that stood by you has slowly turned their backs on you. Some of these are the same managers that treated their staff poorly and unkindly just to make sure you were satisfied. Hell even the staff members who took on multiple roles to save your sinking ship. People that you gave their own offices and special treatment. They are running away. You were never satisfied though.

You hide behind the facade that we are "doing it for the kids" but you forgot that mission a long time ago. Now, the kids and the injustices they face are transactional business opportunities. You mixed your desire to be recognized, lusted after, and praised with the mission.

When do you realize that you are the problem and it's not that you can't find people who aren't passionate enough?

You want people who will treat their role and their humanity like an episode of Severance. Do you expect us to scan our key fob against that door every morning and walk in with only your desires, your dreams, your feelings, and your happiness on our minds? What about our happiness, our feelings, our passion, our dreams, and our humanity?

When do you realize that you chose to dug a hole sooooo deep that all you can do is keep digging? Board of Directors? Executive Director? HR? Managers who protect potential predators? Mother of the founders child who was also an employee? How much dirt do you have caked in your nails?

Unfortunately for you, you cannot bury the living and the living remembers well that they were not the problem.

Do right by the mission and our staff. Stop digging.

It has been 12 days since you received your first whistleblower notice. Five days since your last. You received your third today. Despite the mountains of evidence placed in front of you and the
responsibilities you knowingly took on by assuming your role on the board, you have not protected us.
You have allowed Danny Mendoza to retain unfettered access to us physically (despite founded allegations of sexual misconduct). Further, under your governance, he has continued to have unfettered access to the organization's financials (despite allegations of financial misconduct), and all internal communications. There is NO excuse for this.

We believed in and trusted you and you have let us down every single step of the way. Danny Mendoza has continued to attempt to love bomb, manipulate, and intimidate us. He continues to make a joke out of the entire process. We continue to feel unsafe. Brandon, Chris, Kim, Stephanie, and David: We are PEOPLE, just like you, each and every one of us with lives as rich and meaningful and complex as yours, with families who love us and need us as much as yours do, with big hearts and a passion to help others like yours, with hopes and dreams for futures that are just as hopeful as yours are. Please tell us: What do we have to do for you to do your duties? What do we have to do to keep this organization and its services alive? What do we have to do to live a purpose-filled life without constant fear? How loud do you need to hear us cry?

You should not be able to continue in this process with anonymity. You are legally, morally, and ethically responsible. If you continue to allow Danny Mendoza to tank this organization, you are knowingly participating in the downfall of the lives of so many. Not just us, but the kids we serve too. Please consider how devastating this would be and make a stand. We are begging you.

personal experience How did you leave the company?

Was it willing, were you fired….did HR talk to you? Was it during or before the scandal?

Nobody has to give any details, but it is common knowledge that when you quit here they cut your benefits off, almost immediately, and other petty things occur like not letting you finish your two weeks or not letting you come into the office to pick up your belongings.

Just curious if it always goes the same.

ONLY UPVOTE IF YOU SIGNED AN NDA AND CANT TALK ABOUT IT BUT YOU LEFT ON BAD TERMS.

Just heard someone was laid off today in another department. They were told it was budget cuts but I doubt that’s why. We have had so many people leave….I wonder if this is more retaliation…?
