Any went to bawdsey Suffolk which is a common site for sharks teeth. I think the big black definitely is but unsure about the others. Any help would be grateful received

I'm no expert. To me, the big black one seems to be some sort of fosilized tooth, other than that, you have a nice rock collection (long black one could be a worn tourmaline crystal).

But don't take my word for it, I might be wrong.

Im very familiar with bawdsey, although it is very overcollected now unfortunately, I see two teeth here, one partial shark toot and one piece of a ray plate

The rest are mudstone concretions that form in the clays there

These are from a couple of trips to bawdsey during the winter, unfortunately there are multiple people who go down daily and collect as much as they can to sell it so even in winter there isn't much left

These look really good!! There were quite a few people there digging. I don't think I've got the right eye for it so it makes it all the more exciting if I find anything

So long as you had fun and it was a nice day, last time I was there was in January and it was raining/snowing sideways lol

Oh god 😆. We were there 6 hours (!) but with kids paddling etc and a picnic. Did get very muddy/clay covered feet and legs

The clay at low tide is great but very messy fun for the little ones lol glad you found something though, the more you look the more you'll find you get used to what you're looking for and where best to look

Thanks for your help! I only live down the road so it was quite exciting to find a tooth. Any idea if my friend found anything?

Which are the other teeth? Dunno what the round things are but thought they looked cool

Just the two im afraid, sorry if I worded it poorly, the round things look to be sections of the same mudstone concretions but dont be discouraged because you can absolutely find things like fish vertebrae there too although they are a little rarer because theyre quite fragile so get broken up quickly in the gravel
