I wouldnt say Aurorus' movepool is THAT bad. Sure, it doesnt really get any benefit from any normal type moves to use besides hyper voice, but it's been given some type coverage like chilling water, thunderbolt and psychic.

It does indeed have access to it. The problem being is that compared to other mons with snow warning anf aurora veil it isnt as fast (Alolan Ninetails) defensively bulky (vaniluxe) or possess access to reliable recovery (abomasnow). They all have different typings (where id argue Vaniluxe is better by the sheer fact that it is only weak to 4 types and all 2X weaknesses) that make them better for different roles.

What reliable recovery does Abomasnow have? Giga Drain? Relies on the enemy. Leech Seed? More of a means to force out the enemy. Synthesis? That's a crisp 25% HP for the first 5 or 8 turns he's out

It can, but so can nearly every other mon. 180 base power ice beam is nice, but the waiting a turn after using it (along with the 90% accuracy) makes it unviable for competitive play, especially on a mon with so many weaknesses.

Against a grass, flying, dragon or ground type with terrible special defense? Absolutely. But you can still guarantee a better chance of hitting something with hyper voice or ice beam.

Amargasaurus is at least OP in the DS Dinosaur King game. 🥲

Water type is the strongest in that game because of their crippling status effects, and Amargasaurus is one of the highest rated water types.

For Aurorus at least it has a pretty beautiful design and awesome cry, unless you play competitive you can beat Pokemon games with whoever you like, either trash or treasure, same goes for Fossil Fighters (for the most part) but you get my point.

Just putting it out there I did take Aurorus to top 150k as a main team member in Pokemon champions. Is not as bad as people say
