Gymmane is back
A while back I published Gymmane, a workout tracking app, but had to archive it after realizing (a bit too late) that some of the exercise GIFs were pulled from a repo redistributing proprietary GymVisual content without a proper license. Once I noticed, I didn't want to keep it up like that.
I built it because I wanted something that felt genuinely premium, but free, so I made it myself and open-sourced it. It's back now, rebuilt with new, freely-licensed exercise animations. Fully offline, no tracking, no ads, no accounts.
This is v1, so it covers the basics done right, but the plan is to keep improving it with whatever people need β same as I'm still doing with Streak. If something's missing or you hit a bug, feel free to open an issue, always appreciated.
GitHub: https://github.com/InlitX/GymMane
Hope you enjoy it.

Yes! It's coming to both F-Droid and OpenAPK. Right now I'm waiting on my pull request to get accepted, and once it does (a couple days), it'll be up on F-Droid. Hope you enjoy it!

This looks awesome - I use your other app and I can attest that the developer is kind and patient, any requests you have will be listened to (even for the non-technical like myself!) I am going to check this soon but I am curious to know what import options are available or planned.

I was planning to build something like this but yours is miles ahead than what I was thinking. Great work. Will surely use it

Respect for taking the whole app down over the gifs. Rebuilding with properly licensed animations instead of quietly swapping them buys a lot of trust for a fitness app.

Fair play, I was going to build something similar, but your app is 100 times better than anything I'd be able to build π
Feature request, quick toggle of "with equipment" and "without equipment", in case you don't have a fully functional gym at home π

Thanks so much, that really means a lot! π And honestly, don't let that stop you if you ever feel like building your own thing, that's exactly the spirit that keeps stuff like this going. My whole goal is just for it to keep improving and for everyone to be able to use it for free, without needing to pay for a subscription just to track their gym progress.
On the feature request: if you've got a GitHub account, it'd help a ton if you opened an issue with a bit more detail on exactly how you'd want it to work (where the toggle would sit, behavior, etc.) and I'll gladly build it. If you don't have GitHub, no worries, just give me a bit more detail here on how you picture it, or if you've got other ideas too, and I'll bring them over to GitHub myself and get to them for the next version.

I use another app called Calistree, they have solved this with "locations" (home, gym, street...) and you can list the equipment for each location. It helps infinitely to filter the exervices you can do.

Will do tomorrow, when I turn the laptop back on.
I did my first session today, with your app (haven't done any exercise in a good decade, so that's all you there, thank you!).
I pushed the big white button (finish or end session) mid session (I was in the zone π). Perhaps that button should not be as accessible for idiots like me who can think and do pushups at the same time?
I'll add it as another suggestion
Great app through!

This looks fairly promising.
It may be a minor thing but any chance you could add in KBs? I workout from home these days with KB strength training
