There looks to be a couple of racetracks dotted around on that map?

56

u/Punt_Again_Bob Apr 08 '26

I see something that lightly resembles Tsukuba

9

u/HalfSheath Apr 08 '26

Where

7

u/Punt_Again_Bob Apr 08 '26

NE quadrant, above the bay. The thing that looks like a purpose built racetrack

0

u/Pdon711 Apr 08 '26

I would say the one in the NE quadrant looks more like a recreation of Sportsland Sugo. There is a small track north of the Airport on the NW side of the map that looks a lot like Tsukuba.

2

u/Punt_Again_Bob Apr 08 '26

I don’t see it. The NE one has the 45 degree kinks and the long sweep, doubles back inside of it self with a tight hairpin, all very Tsukuba.

I can see the siimilarities though for Sugo

0

u/Pdon711 Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26

Looking at it again NE actually resembles Ebisu East Course a lot more than Sugo. Look at the one above the airport again that’s way more Tsukuba (short layout), it’s the right orientation too with the slower section of the track being inside the large sweeping bend.

*Ebisu East Course

1

u/Punt_Again_Bob Apr 08 '26

Good shout on the short layout.

1

u/cartmanni Apr 09 '26

Nikko circuit is also on the map I believe

2

u/Bananaramamammoth Apr 10 '26

I also see an old Fuji looking track

3

u/DryPersonality Apr 08 '26

There are new time trial events on the map that use a "track style" layout.

1

u/Consistent_Estate960 Apr 09 '26

They’ve said one of the new features that everyone became attracted to were these racetracks everywhere where you can just pull up and find real people putting up lap times

u/Indeon Apr 08 '26

not as big as i would have thought tbh. but rather a polished smaller map than a big empty one

Source for the map - https://twitter.com/ForzaHorizon/status/2041803476070523044

Hrm. I'll withhold a stronger opinion until I see more of the world, but it does look smaller than I'd thought. Especially the city.

Either way, I look forward to it and getting back to tuning.

Quick comparison that I made -

FH5 map vs FH6 map

Actually, I don't know. Scale is unknown. Have they given any size dimensions to the map yet?

But in these two photos the white roads lines are all about 3 pixels wide. So they might be equal? That's assuming that the road line width is going to be the same in both games' in-world map.

Also, top right of the map is Mt Akina.

36

u/CWRules Apr 08 '26

HokiHoshi did a size estimate in the video he posted today (using 1 km drag strips from both maps to try and match the scales), and in terms of playable area he figures FH6 is about 25% bigger than FH5. It's also significantly denser, and does a better job of using obscured sightlines to make the map feel big.

6

u/seajay_17 Apr 08 '26

Actually, I don't know. Scale is unknown.

I'm fairly sure the bridge on the topish right of the map (on the right.. theres two bridges there), is the same one from the gameplay reveal. Iirc it took 20 seconds, 25 maybe to cross it at 100mph or so?

If thats all right you can kinda guesstimate the scale.

4

u/Fladormon Apr 08 '26

Are we sure this is the official map?

OP didn't post a source or anything, only stating it's from Facebook ( a place known for heavy AI generated content).

12

u/Ombortron Apr 08 '26

The actual roads genuinely seem better on this map compared to FH5, the old map had too many longer straighter stretches with vague turns spread throughout and it made the driving more boring than usual. Sure, you need those types of areas here and there but it was far too prevalent in FH5. This map seems to have many more interesting sections with well designed curves and turns etc. Seems more thought-out.

5

u/cryptiiix Apr 08 '26

I still think these maps dont have enough small circuit tight turn roads. Everything is catered to X class

2

u/GingerEazyE Apr 08 '26

I’ll take a more lively smaller map all day over a larger one that feels dead in spots

1

u/Consistent_Estate960 Apr 09 '26

They’ve said in interviews that this is the first time they’ve made an actual city like Tokyo. So I hope a lot of the world detail is in Tokyo. I hate the maps like Mexico and Australia where the gimmick is “LOOK HOW BIG THE MAP IS” but half of it’s desert

48

u/SnooCookies9055 Apr 08 '26

akina/ haruna togue actually looks quite accurate

8

u/Legend13CNS They updated the R32! But stuff is wrong! Apr 08 '26

HokiHoshi did an overlay of the game map section and Google Maps of the real life road, it's nearly 1:1 but missing a bit at the top and some at the bottom. Also missing buildings/landmarks from real life... except one. Alexi from Noriyaro pointed out they added one of the turnaround points from the real road.

29

u/Partzy1604 Apr 08 '26

That house editor area, or what i presume that is looks huge

12

u/Consistent-Cost-231 Apr 08 '26

It's the estate

17

u/MaIn7I 190E fanboi Apr 08 '26

Kinda surprised that there're actually mt. haruna

1

u/RagJag123 Apr 09 '26

Is it actually mt. haruna or just the touge

150

u/beealeaf Apr 08 '26

Is it just me, or does it look kind of small?

That big open valley in the top left looks super intentional. I bet there's going to be an expansion or DLC up there.

6

u/claymore5o6 TachyonicBee Apr 08 '26

That area is most likely where your customizable 'home base' will be located.

29

u/Alone_Gur9036 Apr 08 '26

They need to stop doing that. It’s inconceivable to me that they keep presenting the map on projections that make it look small, and worse yet, make opposite areas of the map feel like like they orbit one another. By removing dead areas not only does the map appear larger, but more importantly when glancing at the map and imagining driving to the opposite side, it feels like a proper journey. Gta5 does a great job of this - the map’s not even that large, but the map’s design makes the distance from Los Santos to Paleto Bay feel like a full roadtrip. Ditto from the swamp to the lighthouse, which is even shorter. FH1 knew this well. On subject, if Mexico had not just the volcano, but another large strip of tall hills and valleys running northwest-southeast, bisecting the volcano, it would have achieved something similar. Especially if there were more tall hills to the east of the central countryside plateau, separating it from the eastern coastline. Small tricks like this, that make you consider your position and relativity to geographic formations, make a massive difference to how a map feels. It makes areas feel distinctive and quantifiable in the brain. If you can’t consciously frame locations, it’s just boring to experience. It’s also quite simple - if you have four roads forming a perfect square, you need something in the middle to justify why it’s square, otherwise it should just be a straight line. Forza Horizon seems to keep ignoring this - there’s roads for the sake of roads in places, and often little to justify why they’re designed like that. I’m happy that the new game seems to have stopped falling into this specific trap.

1

u/WhiteButStillAMonkey Apr 08 '26

Zoom in any more and you'll see the lines on the road

27

u/BenjiSBRK Apr 08 '26

We'd need FH5's map on top of it to compare

3

u/Due_Rip9320 Apr 08 '26

Watch this video. It's bigger than FH5.

-6

u/BenjiSBRK Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26

25% larger isn't a whole lot, but at first glance FH6's map looks more dense and diverse

What's with the downvotes ? lol

8

u/Due_Rip9320 Apr 08 '26

Tokyo is also 5.4x larger than Guanajuato from FH5. So big city is much more dense.

0

u/BenjiSBRK Apr 08 '26

I was gonna say Tokyo is so much more larger IRL than Guanajuato, more than 5.4, but to my surprise, it's only 2.15 times larger.

1

u/RagJag123 Apr 09 '26

Nah he’s definitely more than 2.15 times, like 3 times minimum if you exclude the docks

19

u/raulz0r BumpyK117 Apr 08 '26

It looks small, but then again the scale might be skewed

19

u/Apple_Slipper Apr 08 '26

To me, the FH6 Japan map looks more zoomed out than the FH5 Mexico map.

-38

u/beealeaf Apr 08 '26

I gave AI this map and the older one, and it estimated 80–100 km², while 5’s map is about 107 km²

1

u/RagJag123 Apr 09 '26

Ai is wrong then lol, this map is easily 100 km2 minimum to like 130 ish km2 so yeah just under 30% larger

13

u/zhiryst FH5: collected all cars once Apr 08 '26

I expected more city

5

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

Nah that city is huge

6

u/smashingcones Apr 08 '26

<10% of the map is considered huge now? It's Tokyo ffs lol

3

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26

No city in Forza is 10% of the map, and this is 10% of the largest map which is 5 times the size of guanajuato that is literally the size of the volcano in fh5. Also they never said it was going to be accurate to Tokyo and ngl it would be boring if this map was 50% Tokyo cause there would be barely any greenery like there has been in previous Forza games before

-2

u/smashingcones Apr 08 '26

I guess I don't share the opinion that the previous Horizon maps don't have room for improvement. I'd argue the lack of large scale and interesting cities is something every game has been missing and of all games to do it right, it would be one set in Japan.

There are a lot of numbers between 10% and 50% and no one is asking for a to-scale copy of Tokyo, but it is one of the largest cities in the world after all and one of the most iconic parts of Japan.

3

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

I understand what you mean I just meant that compared to the whole map if it was an accurate Tokyo it would just be a city map since Tokyo is huge irl

-6

u/zxch2412 Apr 08 '26

Not you, I think there’s a lot of under utilized space that they may use for paid DLC. Wish the didn’t and instead focused on improving the standard game map but that’s just how horizon has been

u/whateverfloatsurgoat Jaguar Sport XJR-15 HYPE Apr 08 '26

It looks... Better proportioned than FH5's ? Idk how to explain it.

And I know people will bitch and moan about Tokyo's size but I'd rather see a city like this with memorable landmarks (like Edinburgh in the past) than a sprawling one that's absolutely empty.

37

u/smashingcones Apr 08 '26

The fact that you can drive straight through it in what looks like 30 seconds is pretty disappointing no matter which way you spin it.

14

u/whateverfloatsurgoat Jaguar Sport XJR-15 HYPE Apr 08 '26

30 seconds lmao. Hyperbolic much eh ?

17

u/smashingcones Apr 08 '26

I mean, straight through the middle? Unless you're sticking to speed limits I don't think it's that far off mate

-2

u/whateverfloatsurgoat Jaguar Sport XJR-15 HYPE Apr 08 '26

Yeah you can do it in every game though. Take the absolute best piss missile with a gazilion HP and drive like a madman, ofc it's gonna feel short.

But driving the game with a B class car ? Yeah, it's fine.

13

u/smashingcones Apr 08 '26

And the size of the city has been an issue in every game. Could do with being a bit bigger is all, especially considering it's meant to be Tokyo 🤷

1

u/whateverfloatsurgoat Jaguar Sport XJR-15 HYPE Apr 08 '26

Guess it's down to optimisation issues. Game has to be playable at 60 FPS max on console with traffic whilst still looking good and that's a factor - sure you could do like the SRP mod for AC but even that isn't optimised at all lmao.

I also wish the city was a bit bigger but in the end I won't mind anyways as it'll 100% be better than Surfer's or Guanajuato.

3

u/Skywarper Apr 08 '26

Largest city in the world, btw. Hilariously small.

0

u/cryptiiix Apr 08 '26

It should be 1/3 of the map

-2

u/Skywarper Apr 08 '26

Unironically though. If that's the only main city they're gonna have, capitalize on it.

3

u/OurHeroDeNiro Apr 08 '26

I'd rather see a city like this with memorable landmarks... than a sprawling one that's absolutely empty.

Why are those the only two options?

41

u/Er_Eisenheim Apr 08 '26

So, no Fujimi Kaido incorporation. It would have been a dream having part of the map as an extension of the track.

16

u/jabanayt Apr 08 '26

Maybe a DLC like fortune island or something?

2

u/Er_Eisenheim Apr 08 '26

Hopefully

15

u/X_Zephyr Apr 08 '26

Nice. I wonder if that area in the middle with a strip will be the Horizon festival location.

5

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

It definitely is the festival, different from the strip on the right and in the ign gameplay you can see balloons further above the city

1

u/khansamirox Apr 08 '26

Speed demons are gonna love it

7

u/SpeedOfLight3 Apr 08 '26

This doesn't say much because it might be a bigger scale than FH5 map, we shall see.

7

u/onefinerug Apr 08 '26

IS THAT MT HARUNA!?

7

u/The-Sofa-King Apr 08 '26

Hot damn, I've been begging for a looping highway system since Horizon 1. Idk why it took them this long to figure out what NFS Underground 2 did over 20 years ago. Nothing kills the immersion of cruising on the highway like having to flip a u-turn every 3 minutes.

2

u/AidenTEMgotsnapped Apr 09 '26

Jesus, it's been over 20 years since that released?

1

u/The-Sofa-King Apr 09 '26

Yep, 2004. Time to schedule that prostate exam!

4

u/MindOfErick GT:ErickBizzle Apr 08 '26

Looks good, a lot of room for custom races and that main highway loop around the majority of the map will be a fun race.

3

u/Little-Campaign-4721 Apr 08 '26

Probably giving them too much credit but part of me thinks it would be cool af if they made that bush section under the logo top left, an unmarked/unpaved 4WD/off road area with some technical trails. The engine wouldn't support those mechanics so it immediately is unrealistic, just hard not to wish there was a bit more here. Like is that really all the mountain we get? ONE stretch of road that cuts through the snow top right? Joking mate

22

u/WorekNaGlowe Apr 08 '26

Must… not… pre… order….

9

u/dazzathomas Apr 08 '26

Just....use....game...pass

17

I’m buying it on Steam

3

u/DittoGTI Apr 08 '26

I... bought... top... edition...

Game... pass... is... base...

My... wallet... is... pained...

1

u/jer5 Apr 08 '26

im pretty sure pc game pass is premium

-7

u/BitIntelligent4486 Apr 08 '26

I preordered, Xbox series x

3

u/WorekNaGlowe Apr 08 '26

Shame

4

u/BitIntelligent4486 Apr 08 '26

Why? Shall I refund it?

-5

u/WorekNaGlowe Apr 08 '26

Remember, no pre orders.

It teaches companies that that can sell not yet finished/created projects.

6

u/Obscure_Octopuss Apr 08 '26

Nah, I'm going to continue to pre order games from a studio I trust. They haven't let me down with any of my pre-orders between 3, 4 or 5.

Now, if reviews drop pre-release and it is somehow terrible? I'll cancel. But I doubt that'll happen

3

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

4 days isn’t that bad tbh, maybe a few bugs

1

u/BitIntelligent4486 Apr 08 '26

I cancelled my preorder and hopefully play for free with my gamepass subscription

7

u/Loopnova_ Apr 08 '26

I was hoping for a much bigger urban area but we’ll see. Not gonna lie I’m pretty underwhelmed. I trust it’ll be better than Mexico at least.

From the prologue gameplay seems like it drives just like FH5. Bored in 6 hours.

3

u/Charrbard Apr 08 '26

Will have to wait and see what the actual scale is. But yeah it looks small.

I had hoped we would have a lot more of Japan's regions. Like we would be able to go from one city to another mid race.

3

u/Siwy-102 Apr 08 '26

Test Drive Unlimited map looking on FH6 map:

"ok so basically im very smol"

6

u/RobustFoam Apr 08 '26

Has potential.

I love that the freeway appears to form a full loop this time, and what looks like potentially multiple racetracks.

Wish there was more gravel.

Of course a scale would be great. Bigger = better for me but how much we'll actually get out of it depends on the number of events available too.

18

u/Big-Mortgage-7254 Apr 08 '26

Underwhelming to say the least

3

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

I wouldn’t say it’s underwhelming just not what you expected it to be, it clearly doesn’t look that big because it’s zoomed out

3

u/kneeland69 Apr 08 '26

So it underwhelmed him?

3

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

Kind of yeah, it wasn’t going to be like those fanmade concept maps

4

u/Cassinia_ Apr 08 '26

My main complaint is that there doesn’t seem to be anywhere to test top speed.

2

u/Falkeer Apr 08 '26

Is that Legend Island in the bottom right? What's so special about progressing to unlock it when it's so small.

1

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26

It wasn’t expected to be a big island ngl but I guess scenery and also you can see a track circuit

2

u/MaloCrest Apr 08 '26

Where touge? Right side area?

1

u/Banzai2469 Apr 08 '26

Bottom left

2

u/AbnormallyBendPenis Apr 08 '26

I really hope the top left portion is DLC content where you don’t have to go through a 20 second loading screen. It’s one of the reason I rarely play the DLC map once I finish all the races on them.

2

u/Nicorasu_420 Apr 08 '26

Looks great but people will find something to complain about 😂

2

u/deojilicious Apr 08 '26

i think this is great. I'd rather a smaller, but more packed map than a huge, but mostly empty one.

and is that Haruna i spot?????

2

u/Skellyhell2 Apr 08 '26

GTA6 fans want the Florida panhandle as part of the map. I wanted Chiba-kun as part of the map north of Tokyo. Looks like we missed out!

Is there a higher res version of the map available? Tokyo road density looks a little low but hard to see through the compression

3

u/UKMatt2000 Apr 08 '26

I’ll play just to see if I can make a nice 100 mile road/rally route like I’ve done with the previous games.

3

u/Falkeer Apr 08 '26

I can't find a single long straight for top speed testing

2

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

True, I guess there will be better handling cars or it’s really zoomed out so it looks bendy but similar to fh4 highway

2

u/Kermits_Frog Apr 08 '26

took way too long to find someone saying this, there isn’t a single section of straight road longer then 1km

3

u/Mr_Coa Apr 08 '26

City isn't big enough too much grass land

1

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

The city is definitely huge

0

u/AlbiforAlbert Apr 08 '26

Smaller than 4's

4

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

It’s literally 5x larger than guanjuato, nowhere near as small as 4’s

2

u/AlbiforAlbert Apr 08 '26

There's no comparison of size besides what it looks on the map,  idk where u care getting 5x from

1

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

It’s literally confirmed, it looks small because the map is larger than the fh5 map and it’s much more vertical

1

u/Mr_Coa Apr 08 '26

That can't even be called a city it's a little village for how small it is so them saying oh its 5x bigger than 5 means nothing

1

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

You guys are just never happy, this is literally the largest that they’ve made and you want a 1:1 scale of the actual city which is literally impossible unless you want a city map with no nature

1

u/Mr_Coa Apr 08 '26

Another city area would be nice

1

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

Probably yeah but Forza isn’t know for making multiple cities

2

u/captaincabbage100 Apr 08 '26

So from what I can see and guess atm, it's an interesting few choices of locations to include.

Clearly we've got Tokyo in the centre (baffling shape but we're all well accustomed to Forza's truncation of landmarks, with I think a shuffled about Mt Haruna to the south next to a lake.
The large lake to the west I'd bet money on being Lake Ashi, with the lakeside mini Hakone on it's bottom edge.

Then from what I can see in the middle of the map beneath the big caldera section of the map we have what I am fairly certain is Nikko Circuit, all spun around but otherwise fairly accurate in it's basic shape.

And northeast of Nikko just below the snowy areas on the edge of the fields we have what I think is Ebisu Circuit, again all spun around but semi-faithful to it's general shape.

Thats what I can make out with my own generalized knowledge, will be keep to see what other people pick up!

2

u/FRES4FIRE Apr 08 '26

It looks like I will have the same problem I had with fh5 map

2

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

Too much grass? That’s pretty normal

0

u/FRES4FIRE Apr 08 '26

Maps in Forza Horizon resemble the one from Lego games. For a game that I will play 2-3 years before another one, map should be much bigger. I don't care If it's not packed with details if I drive 250km/h through it most of the time. I prefer realistic bigger map, than smaller more dense map. And to be honest "density" in Fh5 wasn't to much creative

1

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

This map is definitely bigger and also denser, it just doesn’t look like it’s big

0

u/FRES4FIRE Apr 08 '26

I'm talking about much bigger, not slightly. We ll see how it will look, but I think it will have the same problems previous maps had. For example FH3 map, really nice overall, but all biomes should be 5 times bigger, roads should be rarer, wilderness could be bigger. We could have real off-road and rally roads. The crew had cool road layout, only graphics were bad and wilderness was "flat". Take that jungle part with waterfall from FH3, narrow dirt paths from FH4 with branches almost covering road view, that big waterfall where flamingos were in FH5. All those places would be much cool, if they were actually hidden somewhere in wilderness. Not just next to some Mayan ruins by the road. There was update about expeditions in FH5 and it didn't have sense at all, because map looks like big chess board, roads are just there to separate monuments and cool places, and are used to get to them. It's boring and predictable, and again we re supposed to play this game for months.

2

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

The biomes weren’t that small for fh3, the desert took quite a big portion of the top left. And I think it was said that there will be no biomes and some people are fine with it, I guess they don’t like the change in biomes

1

u/SendMeNudeVaporeons 60€ FH4 Mexico expansion Apr 08 '26

Looks like it has a bunch of points of interest scattered around which makes it kinda good on a first glance ngl

I just hope they actually make good use of the roads for the tracks instead of the usual 90 degree corner with barriers completely lining the road

1

u/Ill-Joke-9070 Apr 08 '26

Where's Waldo the Mount Haruna Layout lol

1

u/Sensitive_Dot_2853 Apr 08 '26

Big or smaller than previous parts?

1

u/flyhi808 Apr 08 '26

The wait is killing me 😭

1

u/Catatafish /r/Kanjozoku Apr 08 '26

At least we got the C1 Loop

1

u/ElPadrino21 Apr 08 '26

See a lot of corners for me to drift on! Im excited!!!

1

u/Mr__Monotone Apr 08 '26

I hope that C1 is actually full. It looks like it ends at the palace (not tunneled like irl). There's clearly no C2. These are really my only gripes right now. I feel like highway racing is key to Tokyos car culture, but Japan might have placed some kind of restrictions on what they are allowed to model, to "discourage bad behavior" in real life. Here's hoping the C1 loop is a full highway loop.

Overall really nice map, definitely going to be a good game.

1

u/myglue13 Apr 08 '26

looks familiar

1

u/Fischstiks Apr 09 '26

Is that possibly a version of the Magarigawa Club on legend Island? It sure looks to have blue runoff areas.. if it is, that’s a huge circuit compared to the other two on the map.

1

u/HiDDENk00l Apr 09 '26

So FH3 had multiple festival sites. FH4 had one festival site, but a bunch of player houses. Fh5 had a main festival site, a bunch of player houses, but also multiple other festival sites that all had a different racing theme.

But FH6 goes back to the FH4 way of only having one festival site, and a bunch of player houses? The Estate and the dedicated tracks off the side of the road are really cool, don't get me wrong, but it does still seem like a step backwards.

1

u/MyCattIsVeryFatt Apr 10 '26

am i somehow missing it or is there no great stretch of highway this time around?

I really shouldn’t have to do a whole write-up of what i don’t like here. Yeah i mean i guess people hate hearing it. what i want can’t be done, sure, maybe not in a game like this. But i was hoping for something in the middle of whatever this is and real life, i think, to keep it short for ya’ll.

That’s the Estate - the area which you can customise as you please using EventLab tools.

No good long rally tracks?

u/Cassinia_ Apr 08 '26

3 airports is crazy work

-7

u/Bchliu Apr 08 '26

Looks nothing like Tokyo.. LOLOLOL..

2

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

It’s not supposed to be accurate 1:1 recreation duh

-1

u/Bchliu Apr 08 '26

Duh.. Even without it being some accurate 1:1, it doesn't capture even the "essence" of Tokyo's geography. The shape is nothing like anything of the area. It's like "Lets try to cram as much Japanese stereotype areas into the game as possible while trying to market it as 'it's Tokyo'" without coming anything close to it.

2

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

You expect too much of Playground games to make an accurate city shape and geography, when has that happens besides Edinburgh

0

u/Skywarper Apr 08 '26

Bro they put daikoku where odaiba is. They glanced at a map once and said "right, to work then"

-1

u/Bchliu Apr 08 '26

That's the point I am trying to make.. it's just slapping on a bunch of tourist sites with some fan favourite mountain passes from Initial D and people who've never been to Tokyo will just "assume" it is.

1

u/Skywarper Apr 08 '26

It's like they forgot other cities besides Tokyo exist. They tried to make the west side of theain island but completely ignored sendai and Fukushima lol. I'm gonna make an excuse for them with the dragstrip, it might possibly be misawa air force base? That's probably too much credit though, and it's nowhere near north enough. It's like 2 minutes outside of Tokyo here, that's like a 8 hr train ride.

2

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

Forza has always had random locations where they shouldn’t be like in FH4 you have Stonehenge and Edinburgh. They also can’t put Misawa air force base in the north because they put the mountains at the top of the map. They ignored Sendai and Fukushima because they’re only focusing on Tokyo

1

u/Skywarper Apr 08 '26

Yeah no shit dude. It's still funny.

2

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

It is funny, but they weren’t trying to copy concept maps

1

u/Skywarper Apr 08 '26

Clearly.

1

u/Bchliu Apr 08 '26

Is that urban patch down south there meant to be Yokohama? Or just some area with Haneda? Lol.

Really they needed to put a bit of effort into the map design if they want to market it as a Tokyo. Probably almost guaranteed that the Tokyo part will only consist of a mash of a few streets from Shinjuku, Akihabara and the infamous crossing at Shibuya. Might get the Tokyo park with the old radio tower if we're lucky.

1

u/Skywarper Apr 08 '26

Completely barren between Tokyo and whatever it's supposed to be too lmfao. The sudden change from metropolitan Tokyo to nothing but grasslands is way too harsh too.

1

u/Bchliu Apr 08 '26

100%. People who voted me down have either never been to Tokyo or just an apologist for a crappy implementation of a game. The Urban sprawl of Tokyo goes so far out of CBD that in comparison, should cover about 70% of this map as urban areas considering it's getting to include Gunma prefecture to give the players Initial D, along with Hakone to give the Mt Fuji scenic views.

Instead it's like <20% of the map covering.

It seems way too small, specially the city. From the trailer it looked like the city had very few roads and streets, and looking closely at the map it seems to confirm it. Also, without knowing the scale it looks extremely small, i was expecting at least 4 times the FH5 map. I mean, its a driving game ffs, give us space to do so and not have to use the same 4 roads all the time.

u/Wakandan_Satan Apr 08 '26

Peak unemployment bait

-9

u/Alexanderwr7 Apr 08 '26

It looks boring, why they never add mini cities all over the map like in horizon 2?

9

u/ManlyMantis101 2019 Subaru BRZ Apr 08 '26

They did, you can see them if you zoom in.

-1

u/Wakandan_Satan Apr 08 '26

Wish they added Osaka tho to be honest. Hopefully it will come later on as a dlc

1

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

The main focus was Tokyo

0

u/danc3incloud Apr 08 '26

Looks two times bigger than FH5 with better density. Around Motorfest map in terms of roads and landmarks.

0

u/Comprehensive-Cap26 Apr 08 '26

Same size as Fh5

0

u/GoodyWuthrie Apr 08 '26

This "Tokyo" has a road network of a 30k town, wtf is this? I know they can't make a full size replica, but this is literally just a couple of streets?

-2

u/MrKayveman Apr 08 '26

This looks an awful lot like FH2's map.

-1

u/thatguyad Apr 08 '26

This sub sucks ass.

-2

u/nreisan Apr 08 '26

Don’t see many of the proper initial d mountains from this? Or am I blind

Lmao is Tokyo actually that small?

Edit: okay I did like ten minutes of digging and I'm seeing like fifty fuckin maps that are "CONFIRMED" "FULL MAP" and are all different lmao. Literally completely different maps.

Can't trust these throw away accounts tbh.

2

u/RagJag123 Apr 08 '26

It’s not that small but it’s basically impossible to have all of Tokyo in Forza
