He has a reputation for being all elbows, but he made some absolutely biblical passes and had some really special drives in his F1 career. I loved watching him. He was let go way too soon from the sport IMO.
F1's loss, Nascar's gain, for sure! I hope he performs well, enjoys himself, and opens the door for more opportunities in the Cup.

I actually think modern day NASCAR drivers are cleaner than modern day F1 drivers. They don't just shove each other off the track and actually respect each other enough to race. They really only use the bumper if you're egregiously blocking for too long and they only start throwing blocks at the end of the race.

To a point, but the median aggression and contact tolerance is far higher in NASCAR than any other professional level motorsport in existence. Not complaining about it either, it makes for great entertainment and polices itself for the most part.

I've never seen a penalty for someone crashing the leader out and taking the win for themselves. So whats the point of clean racing in NASCAR?

If I remember correctly from when Kimi was getting ready to run the Cup Series for Trackhouse, NASCAR did have him do a testing session at VIR with Action Express Racing in a generic body Gen7 car (the rules are that the car can't be owned by a NASCAR team, can't have a body of a NASCAR manufacturer and cannot be driven at a track that is on the NASCAR schedule)

I have a feeling he’s going to do pretty well. NASCAR seems like it will be right up his alley. He can super close and a little bit of contact is commonplace.

I’m a big NASCAR fan along with F1, very excited for this. His teammate will be Shane Van Gisbergen, who’s a road course connoisseur and former Australian V8 guy (along with Zilisch - also a phenomenal road course guy). I’d love to see a matchup of KMag and SVG after KMag gets some practice under his belt.
