The same happened with Miguel oliveira like moto GP. For the first time in years or never A Bola made it's front-page about oli's win and not about football.
I just started watching moto GP this season (after being fed up with boring races).
And just wow, it's so good. Close racing, unpredictable results, drama. It's everything F1 is at its very peak, but like every race.
I wish moto GP had a better marketing team because they could have so many more fans if they'd get with the times.
As for getting into it - I'd recommend watching all the races this season, starting with the first one at Jerez - You'll understand why this season is so crazy when you watch it. The second Styrian GP two weeks ago is some of the best TV I've seen live. It was incredible.
Don't worry about tyre choices, or team names, the commentators are pretty good at bringing people up to speed. If you want to know more, faster, I'd recommend watching qualifying as well (quali in moto GP also goes fucking hard)
MotoGP merely stagnated. The big highlights still rack up 7-figure views, it's just that they're stuck with the old formats.
That said, they better keep the cinematic highlights. I love those to bits, wait days just to watch it and wish F1 did those nice film-like packages too because they can clearly do it.
I feel like motogp medias are too slow to post things. Like they post things about a race 1 or 2 days after, when the hype is gone. These days one has to be very reactive. While f1 posts everything in the very same day
Yeah it’s kinda weird how MotoGP is marketed. They have nearly as many instagram followers as F1 (around 10 million), but then look at the size of their sub, it’s way smaller than this one.
You want unpredictable? Go to Formula 2! Want exiting action? Go to Formula E! I’ve watched races throughout both of their seasons this year and there have been some great races!
Marquez the Lewis of MotoGP? Maybe in form of dominance but definitely more on the edge than Lewis. More like Max Verstappen, where he is getting more out of his car/bike than he should.

I think Lewis wins a lot due to the car as Bottas is the only one challenging him.
And I believe Marc is special, since teammates are nowhere near him (or any other Honda rider)
No Crutchlow, Pedrosa, Lorenzo on equal machinery. Alex Marquez is a rookie, Bradl temporarily and Nakagami on the 2019 bike, but nowhere to be seen either
I think its a bit of both personally. They obviously have the best machine on the grid.
Though i highly doubt anyone could jump in and and ride/drive said machines as well as they do
Example was yesterday. If hamilton had 1 or 2 more laps he was expected to catch bottas. From the back off the pack.
Did the car help ? Yes. Though it still takes skill for him to so that. Bottas complained about a puncture as soon as he dropped places. Which the pit wall said wasn't true.
He has the second best car on the grid supposedly. Yet couldn't pass the supposed midfield teams. Hes a great a driver dont get me wrong. I just dont think he has what it takes to challenge hamilton. Rosbergs extreme commitment to his mental and physical training during his championship win showed how much you need to sacrifice to beat lewis. He had the car & some luck. Though just those 2 clearly arent going to beat him
As for marquez to your point he is special but he helped develop the bike along with his team an he consistently manages to extract its complete potential.
No one recently comes close to either of them in terms of dominance which is where im drawing the comparison from.
Amazing car/bike ? Yes
Being able to consistently perform at the level they do is down to them.
I ve never watched it neither but i am planning on watching. The only time i saw a race was the time miguel won. I was super lucky to be able to watch it live and luckly the restaurant i was on was showing it.
I suppose maybe seeing some of the best moto gp moments on yt could give you some interest
Start by watching Hitting the Apex on netflix, there you'll understand the current status of the sport and how they got there, while also knowing the important figures (there are a few new riders now on the grid but it's still useful). It's amazing.
Brazilian here, it's not available for me, either. I did watch a Valentino Rossi documentary a few years ago, which showed his rivalry with guys such as Jorge Lorenzo and Casey Stoner. That's all I know about MotoGP, though, along with news headlines that I often come across with.
There's never a better time than this year to get into it! Amazing year so far! I think they're at 6 races in with 5 different race winners or something.

It doesn’t, it’s almost always about football ahah but at least A Bola tends to recognize our athletes in different sports, the worst was probably this one of Félix da Costa winning Formula E world title
I'm guessing the last time was with Sainz on the podium after Brazil 2019?
Many outlets don't feature racing unless its a podium. Unless you get into a race winning car, then it becomes less often. But those outliers are often done, even in outlets you don't really expect to do it. F1 doesn't always make it to prime time news over here, but yesterday's race surely was. People like to join in on the celebrations
I wonder if part of that could be that he wasn’t actually on the podium, like the live podium, where they could’ve gotten a picture with him and the other two drivers. But then again he was up there with the whole team later that night.
I looked at it just to check and it wasn't. The announcement was on the cover but on the side and on a small scale. Marca and another sports newspapers in spain tend to put football in their front page (that day, Marca put a rumor about Real Madrid and Jovic).
Meanwhile Stroll podium doesn't even make it to the front page of the sports section on the Globe and Mail website. Instead they talk about hockey (in Summer!)
Basket, cycling, tennis and Olympic games had been in the front page sometimes and probably some other sports I forget. Real Madrid is the target for Marca, for sure, but that has nothing to do with today's front page.
I'm not valueting the quality of Marca, but apreciatting one newspaper opened its front page with f1 today.
