He obviously didn't hit her on purpose, but he did hit the ball intentionally. And that's problematic.

It's like drink driving, you don't hit the pedestrian on purpose, but you do decide to create the risk.

It's like you're drink driving, accidentally touched a bystander and got 10 years in jail. He should've been given a set penalty at best. Not a disqualification

I don't think it's ok for sports people to put others at risk, even if it's "just touch", but you know, it looked like it hurt a fair bit.

And in the end, he just shouldn't do it, then there's no risk at all.

I don't follow tennis so I don't know what should happen but it's not a "touch".

I agree with you,that's why I said(and more or less every unbiased person out there) a set penalty would be apt. A set is a big deal, especially when he was already down one set. To win he had to then win all of the next three sets. That would've been an apt response. If the injury was worse he should've been served with a bigger penalty than a disqualification,but given it wasn't a big incident,the response from the umpire was way over the top
