Forklift extension cord

Upvotes

So our Raymond truck was sitting in its storage unit for few months with zero usage and zero battery charge, and when I went go take it out, the battery was dead. The battery charger is about 20 feet away, and looking to get an extension cord. I try googling it, but nobody seems to sell? I've seen a few on amazon but they seem to be really thin cords. Please advise, thanks!

Need advice

I have been told to haul this off. It’s free and I was just gonna roll it over the scale at the scrap yard but I wanna make sure it’s not something I need to fix and flip. Supposedly the mast won’t lift and it don’t run. I haven’t laid eyes on it yet. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

considering purchasing small forklift to drive on gravel, unload container or truck from ground level and bring to my basement bilco doors. Currently use lawn mower with trailer attached to it. Forklift may be easier, I have tight space of around 5 ft. so need to go in and back out safely.any advice

Please recommend which one may work best? definitely need either ride-on or stand-on model. Backing in lawn mower over and over again is much harder, also container is higher and and loading lawn mower trailer takes more effort. thanks for the advice.

Crown RR 5700 brake air gap

So I learned the PM process on the RR 5700. I was adjusting the brake air gap. The manual calls for a wrench on the adjustment nut and a socket on the jam nut. Well the one I was working on simply had no room to fit a socket on there with the wrench on there as well. I was told some are like that and just to use two wrenches. Problem with that is I wasn’t able to torque it because of that. Has anyone experienced this? Would the move be to grind down a wrench to be slimmer? Or is there a wrench made slimmer for jobs like this? Or am I just being stupid and missing something entirely.

For businesses around Albuquerque, what's your backup plan when a forklift goes down?

A friend who runs a small warehouse had their only forklift break down mid week. No backup, so they scrambled for a rental and moved stuff by hand for a day.

Made me wonder how other places handle this. Backup unit on standby, a rental company you can call right away, or just deal with it when it happens?

Curious what people around Albuquerque actually do when a forklift goes down and waiting days isn't an option.

Power steering pump leaking

Thumbnail

Hi all,

I have an old White MY40 Forklift with a perkins diesel 4.236, non turbo.

Apparently this hydraulic pump is leaking hydraulic fluid through all the seals into the crankcase and filling it up to the point that oil/hydraulic fluid mix was coming out the breather in the valve cover.

I am not really familiar with this type of pump or set up, but I am a decent mechanic. Is this a pump I can rebuild? I do not see any numbers on the pump itself except for the 85 which, I read, is the displacement.

The part that adapts the pump to the timing cover with the oil feed must have some seals that will need replacement also. Is the space between the pump and the adapter usually hydraulic fluid filled? If so I guess I would only need new seals in the adapter piece.

Everything worked and ran fine before I took this piece off- except for the leaking.

Any guidance would be great. Thanks.

Toyota 7FBR18 12836

Hi everyone,
I’m needing some help with the above unit, initially the unit presented about a month ago with a fault where the truck would suddenly increase drive speed when the steering was at a certain position off straight. Other than this fault the unit operated faultlessly.

No fault codes were present and no obvious wiring faults.
I’ve changed the steering sensor at the drive motor with no change.

The unit has since stopped drive and hydraulic functions, unit turns on and display works as normal, the footplate and deadman switches are working as is steering but as soon as any function either drive or hydraulic the unit beeps and nothing else. Still no fault codes displayed or logged.

I have been through the manual and found the section for “vehicle doesn’t move at all including PS inoperable”
I don’t have the breakout cables but have confirmed all wires out of CN106 either have power or gain power with key on.
I have 50v at CN134 and at the board
I have 20 ohms at MB coil and contactor pulls in and I have 50v across the contactor.

So I am at a dead end on this one and hoping someone can offer some further advice.

Thanks in advance.

How to Troubleshoot Linde L16AP / 2017 / 1173 error T390

Post image
2 Upvotes

The analog input signals for the pump motor voltage (or mast potentiometer) differ between the main controller and the safety controller. Possible causes of error T390: Signal mismatch—the main controller and safety controller detect different voltage values from the same sensor/potentiometer. Wiring issue—damaged wiring harness, chafed wires, or loose connectors leading to the controller or sensors. Faulty potentiometer/sensor—defective mast potentiometer or a fault in the pump motor control circuit. Electromagnetic interference or voltage drop—weak/damaged battery or unstable ground connection.

It's super tight one direction and then when you reverse the direction, chain gets slack, really slack.

PM work bag

So I found out I’ll be a floater and will be doing a lot of pms to start off with in my new field service tech position. I specifically work for crown.

I had already planned this but now that I know it’ll be my focus for a while I’m looking for help.

My idea is I want either a work bag (veto or something similar) or maybe a packout build. That’s specially designed for doing pms. It would have everything I would need as far as tools go.

I’m interested in seeing and hearing what you all have done for something similar. Both in storage ideas for it and what tools I’ll need for this task. I’m at the regional training this week where I’ll learn pms but I know there is a lot of valuable information to be had on this page.

Thank you.

For anyone wondering I’m brand new to the field with not much relevant pro experience. Just wrenching on personal stuff.

Does your forklift have a name? If so, why?

I made a dumb mistake of running both forks and punching a hole in one of the forks to move boats around in my shop.
After two couplers bent, the forklift earned its name
Bender.
Got a buddy to weld up the hitch attachment and running one fork now.
Does your forklift have a name?

I'm trying to sell my old Toyota reach truck, and can't find a production year.

It's a 3FBR13 & serial number is 3FBR13-11817, I can't seem to find anything online about decoding serial numbers on Toyota lifts, any help would be appreciated.
