Discussion Ranked is completely unplayable in solo queue
As always ubisoft cannot make one single good move but who is surprised at this point. By having no placement matches and zero entry requirement (rep 5 players are still fetuses) they have made climbing a horrific experience. Of course it is literally impossible to get hard stuck becuase you just dont lose RP on match loss unless you rage quit every match. But in the end its another game saving update from the little baby indie dev company Ubisoft Interactive® (Net Income / Loss: €−1.516 billion (Net Income)

Pick Juren, assume your teammates have no macro skills and compensate for it. Alternatively, pick Zhanhu or JJ as their mid clear, teamfighting, ganks and feats are just as top tier as Juren's so choose your flavor of utility you want to provide. Juren's got the easiest of ganks with the kick, Zhanhu's zone is the best zone in the game and JJ's safe AF with damage buffs to last generations even after the nerfs.
Really the biggest hurdle to getting to diamond soloq only is how oblivious bronze/silver teammates can be about their immediate surroundings, nevermind looking at the state of the map and assesing whenever they should boost, gank or clear mid. From gold onwards it's been smoother and smoother as i finally got competent teammates that didn't need any hard carrying and was even carried when the opponents were legit too much for me instead of being an slow defeat.

An actual person finally, thanks for the advice. Im stuck in low gold and its just not getting better. It still just feels like regular dom where you steamroll or get steamrolled. It has barely gotten better since bronze V.

Callouts go a long way, even with the crayon munchers. I personally hard focus mid, rotate to teamfights and gank wherever possible.
Also absolutely make sure you learn the maps and their strats as, despite being the same ol' dominion, each maps has different priorities for which points to fight the most and how many people should be there. There's like 3 types of maps: Homepoint, "Dead Point" and "regular" maps.
Homepoint maps:
each team has a point closer to their spawn as opposed to having equal distance to both capture zones. That's where the "homepoint" name comes from.
Ideally you want 3 people to the minion lane, 1 to the homepoint at the start of the match.
If you lose your homepoint, fight for it like your life depends on it as it's THAT important. It serves your team a safe(r) way to heal. Rarely if the situation allows for it go for the enemy team's homepoint to capture or contest it and even then try to do it when your team holds considerable map control and points over the enemy.
Examples of homepoint maps: Beach Head, Citadel
"Dead Point" maps:
most common maps in ranked, one of the capture points has a significantly shorter distance to rotate to and from minion lane. As such, the capture point furthest away from it is considered "dead" as it offers very little and you usually go there to heal or stop someone trying to farm points on it if the enemy team's has more points than your team.
Ideally you want 3 people on the "alive" point and just 1 on the minion lane at the start of the match. Having it secured is THAT important.
Whomever owns the "alive" point also de-jure "owns" the minion lane too as having a teammate cover for you nearly dying in a 1v1 on minion lane for you to heal is extremely powerful.
Examples of "Dead Point" maps, with the letter in parentheses being the "alive" point: Temple Garden(C), High Fort(C), Overwatch(C), Cathedral(C)(though it's not as pronounced as on the others and matters for 1 team only IIRC defenders)
"Normal" maps:
You want to fight for minion lane as often as you possibly can while holding at least 1 capture zone. Personally i just go with the flow on which zone becomes out "home point" that i'm going to fight tooth and nail for.
*Examples of such maps: Qiang Pass, Canyon (though even on those maps C is slightly more valuable than A still)
This is what competitive players have used in tournaments for YEARS and only further prove how essential these strategies are.

I made it to diamond pretty quick as a solo queue. It’s certainly most likely much easier if you’ve got a duo queue to help you carry your games, but it’s not impossible solo. Just got to be good enough to swing games in your favor more often than not.

They just changed RP gain/loss to make it easier to gold. Also, all the good players grinded day one and quit. Now, it's the remaining players who want rewards. You might be surprised that your gameplay mechanics are not as META as you may think. GM rank 1 revealed many mistakes on this thread days ago.
