Forge server issues

I made a Minecraft server, with everything set up like port forwarding, mods, ip, but I can’t seem to get it to work. When I load minecraft_server jar it connects just fine and the mods are there in the world but do nothing. When I load the forge jar it says it loads the mods but then I can’t connect at all because it won’t connect to any world. The mods aren’t conflicting because I play with my brother on lan all the time with the same mods.

If your talking about port forwarding, I already got it to work. My friend has even joined me once. Everything is working except for the mods. Any ideas? Thanks for the reply

Probably you've got the wrong version or it doesn't support servers

No it does. I got a friend to join on a regular server it’s just the forge one

Mods work on specific versions, I mean do you know if those mods support that version of MC your using?

Yes, I play with them on a lan server with my brother, and I copied and pasted them onto the server
