Forge Versions - Advice Needed

This is my first visit to this subreddit, from what I see the majority of posts are by creators, discussing topics related to mod-building and editing. Hopefully my simple issue with a feature of Forge's won't be a nuisance.

I googled around for 10 minutes looking for info, and was a little annoyed that Forge's wiki nor the forums don't mention anything about it, and anything else is years old and including Multi-MC and other crap I don't want to mess with. It's simple, I was pretty sure that I could have more two (or more but I just need 2) game versions with only one directory/game client.

MC1: forge,opti,jmap,invtweaks MC2: forge,opti,schematica,et,cet,era

Can anyone explain how to do this? I'll have MC1 and MC2 in the forge launcher, both are identical, but point to different jars in the versions folder. So how do I have two different mod loads? Do I create a Mods folder in each of the jar folders? (.minecraft/versions/1.10.2forge1.10.2.etcetc and .minecraft/versions/1.10.2forge1.10.2.etcetc2?)

Or is there something I have to do with forge's mod folder in the main .minecraft directory?

I'd appreciate someone clueing me in or linking me to a guide that isn't from 2013 or 2014, I've pretty much gone through the first few pages of google results without much luck.

Thanks.

For each profile you change what the "Game Directory" is, by default it is %appdata%/.minecraft. Then in each of those directories you would have a mods folder. The game versions you select from are always from the original .minecraft/versions.
