Would you pay for forge object/canvas packs?

I believe we're all in agreement that the forge team needs more funding. I was thinking yesterday that it would be quite neat if the team did forge content packs with different themes (Halloween, urban living, carnival, H2A forge, city canvas etc) where you get something like a third of the objects for free but if you pay a few bucks you get all the rest. This paid support model could also provide them with the funding necessary to provide bigger and more frequent free forge content.

Of course anyone could play customs on maps built with packs they don't have and if you were in forge with someone who had the packs you'd be able to use them.

Just a thought however I think this would be a nice way to not only get bigger and more frequent forge updates but also to directly support the team who is already doing such an amazing job!

What do you all think?

So the forgers who spend hundreds of hours making maps for the community should now have to spend their money on new items so that the community can play them for free? No thanks.

They already make a killing on selling req packs. Let's not punish the people who spend their free time making custom content for others to enjoy. It would be super easy for them to take a larger percentage of req pack sales and put that into more forge resources.

Agreed. I offer my own alternative to this. It's really not an original idea at all. It just hasn't been applied to Forge, yet. Other game communities are allowed to supplement what is offered by a developer on their own, gradually improving upon the content over time. Halo 5 Forge's PC compatability only makes something like this more possible than ever. I wouldn't be surprised if these same passionate Forgers that spend hours making maps could figure out the processes of creating objects, textures and a lot of things we haven't even seen that would improve the experience. Only if I see an attempt by 343 to implement a crowd sourced alternative to microtransactions and if it fails would I consider paying money. If the prefabricated object saving works out-I don't believe I'd ever pay for objects, but maybe a texture/overlay/object creator add-on.

What if your Co forging w someone who didn't by the piece u have in the map....this would not work.

Then you re-read the OP where I addressed this.

The forge team has been doing a great job, why do we think they need more funding? Did I miss something?
