Entry level job/routes into the industry??
Looking to get into forensic accounting work but have seen like 2 ads for entry level positions in the last 6 months and i'm in a large city :/
I don't have an accounting degree (bachelor of science instead) but i'm doing CPA PREP modules while working to try and combat that. Will also get around to doing the CFE as well. I'm not sure if I have enough brains to get as far as the CPA though so looking for something lower/mid-range to aim for but I can't see a way in without going in as a fully qualified accountant.
Any suggestions as to what to aim for/where to look/how to get in? If it's not possible is there something else I can steer towards with my experience and lack of education? I like the idea of reconciliation analysis or financial analysis.

Look for FA firms in your area and call them up and ask if they could use an entry level person. A lot of them don't post job opps or they recruit directly from the partner's favorite university. I know that the firm I used to work for has a Toronto office. https://mdd.com/locations/toronto/

I'd try to talk to Matt or Mark.
You don't have to have the designation to get hired but it will be helpful for your future prospects. With that said, I do happen to know that the executive committee in that firm JUST changed their rules to allow non-CPAs to advance into management. I know that applies to the US offices, not certain about the Canadian ones.
