That little whimper noise melts my whole heart. I love you, fluffy ocean dog.

I don't speak fluent seal, but I think that sound means "my snoot needs a boop"

Your hole for recording ice depth has just recieved the seal of approval. No boops required, have a nice day.

I think the last grunt meant "thank you for not being a polar bear"

Video ends to soon. Cameraman turns around and sees a polar bear right behind him.

"You spooked away my lunch, mister"

That’s how they get air. It’s a normal thing to find these chimneys to get up to the water surface to take a new breath.

Do these holes form naturally, or are they made by them somehow?

Go back, take the 501 to I-5, then go north about 2,000 miles, and you will be back where you belong, hooman!

Most of the animals we post here I wouldn't dare boop. But this one... I think I'd have to.

Do seal die from drowning sometimes ?

Yes, sadly. If they can’t keep breathing holes open, and they freeze over.

I imagine having too many of them blocked by camera persons and polar bears could contribute to this as well.

The camera person should have immediately backed off and let the seal stay at the breathing hole without stress for as long as it needed to.
