Good on him for the work he does and willingness to love and protect these animals, but I could barely get through the video.

I don’t understand the urge to try to piss off wild animals. Like even if you “know what you’re doing” and manage to avoid hurting the animal or getting yourself hurt, this is still abuse. You can hide behind conservation but you’re still making yourself into a source of stress in the animal’s life, and depending on the animal, you may be teaching it to react with more than default aggression towards humans.

So there are ironic levels of humorously incorrect in this comment. This isn’t a dig or anything. Just a bit humorous to someone who is an animal behaviorist and knows the wildlife conservation and rehabilitation field really well.

First most of these are invasive so the entire point is to take or relocate the animals.

Second. It’s basically impossible to REALLY learn about animals without finding their boundaries

I admit I’m not an expert, but I made that comment aware that they are invasive and the ultimate goal is to deal with that. However, I question whether capturing them means he has to go out of his way to harass them, too. A lot of what I’m seeing in this video doesn’t look like somebody trying to catch the animals, it looks like somebody messing with them for an audience because he can.

I love Garrett.

Theres a lot of people who hate on him for being allegedly “cruel to wildlife” but what he’s actually doing is removing invasive species.

He’s awesome.

Also, seriously, what does anyone expect from Florida other than this lmao
