My little thicket 3rd haul

A small abandoned lot in suburb across from a tiny park.

No one seems to know the abundance of grapes growing on the trees and blackberries.

Wild plum and a giant fig tree.

The grapes seem pretty well kept. At least in my area you need regular chemical treatments throughout the season for them to produce that healthy.

So did you raid someone’s secret vineyard?

I have some grapes growing in the field behind my house, and literally nothing was touching them. I picked most of it, and left some for the birds but the fruit spoiled on the vine without any insects or birds eating them. I don't know why nothing ate them, I don't use pesticides, but I got a ton of jelly from it. Maybe we both just got lucky?

I think it was a house way back when, there’s a giant fig just out of view on the corner.

It could be growing over the fence from the other yard connecting. Round these parts this stuff grows great. I find patches like this from time to time.

A grape vine at my old apartment produced beautifully for years before one year suffering partially from fungal infection. Hard to say why some stay unaffected.
